Alongside the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village Katina Puja Festival, a series of medical clinics were held on October 17 at the Mahoshada Hospital premises within the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village.
These clinics were conducted by Ministy of health
The clinics offered free services to the local community, including outpatient care, blood sugar tests (both fasting and random), height, weight, and BMI measurements, medical checkups, blood pressure tests, the provision of necessary medications, blood tests, dental checkups, eye exams, Ayurvedic consultations, and kidney screenings.
Notably, over 150 kidney disease screenings were conducted, each valued at more than Rs. 20,000 but provided free of charge. Many new cases of kidney disease, diabetes were identified, and patients were referred for immediate treatment and necessary care.
Around 130 staff members participated in the event.
Additionally, Hemas Hospitals, an internationally accredited hospital chain in Sri Lanka, provided all OPD services, including blood sugar tests, height, weight, and BMI checks, medical checkups, blood pressure tests, and medication distribution, all free of charge to the local community.
This effort involved around 30 staff members.
Furthermore, eye exams were conducted by Eye Zone Optical, a leading optical service provider in Sri Lanka, for 400 individuals, and free eyeglasses were distributed.
This initiative reflects Umandawa’s ongoing collaboration with both government and private healthcare providers, demonstrating its continuous commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community through accessible and free healthcare services.

Umandawa Global Buddhist Village කඨින පූජෝත්සවයට සමගාමිව සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යංශය සුව උදාන කාර්‍යංශය විසින් සායන මාලාවක් ඔක්.17 දින උමංදාව මහෝෂධ රෝහල් පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්වුනා.
මෙහිදී OPD අංශයේ සියලුම සේවාවන්, රුධිරගත සීනි පරීක්ශාව(Fasting and Random),උස,බර සහ දේහ ස්කන්ධ දර්ශකය,වෛද්‍යය පරීක්ෂාව,රුධිර පීඩන පරීක්ෂාව, අවශ්‍ය සියලුම ඖෂධ ලබාදීම රුධිර පරීක්ශාව,දන්ත සායනය,ඇස් පරීක්ශාව,ආයුර්වේද සායනය සහ වකුගඩු සායනය වැනි ඉතා වටිනා පරීක්ශාවන් නොමිලේ ගම්වාසින් සඳහා ලබාදුන්හ විශේෂයෙන් රු 20000 ට වඩා වටිනාකමකින් යුත් වකුගඩු රෝග පරීක්ෂාවන් 150 ට අධික ප්‍රමානයක් සිදුකෙරිණි.මෙහිදී වකුගඩු , දියවැඩියා නව රෝගීන් විශාල ප්‍රමානයක් හදුනාගත් අතර එහිදී මූලික ප්‍රතිකාර හා අවශ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය සායනයන් සදහා යොමුකරන ලදී. මේ සඳහා 130ක පමන කාර්‍යය මන්ඩලයක් සහභාගී විය.
තවද Hemas Hospitals Lanka ආයතනය මගින් OPD අංශයේ සියලුම සේවාවන් ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි. මෙහිදී -රුධිරගත සීනි පරීක්ශාව(Fasting and Random),උස,බර සහ දේහ ස්කන්ධ දර්ශකය,වෛද්‍යය පරීක්ෂාව,රුධිර පීඩන පරීක්ෂාව, අවශ්‍ය සියලුම ඖෂධ ලබාදීම නොමිලේ ගම්වාසින් සඳහා ලබාදුන්නා. මේ සඳහා 30ක පමණ කාර්‍යය මන්ඩලයක් සහභාගී විය.
එමෙන්ම 400ක් දෙනා සඳහා ඇස් පරීක්ශා කොට ඇස් කන්නාඩි නොමිලේ පරිත්‍යාග කිරීම ද සිදුකෙරිණි, අක්ෂි පරීක්ෂණ කටයුතු Eye Zone Optical ,මෙම කර්ත්‍යවයන් සාර්ථක කරගැනීම සදහා සහයෝගය ලබාදුන් සෞඛ්‍ය ලේකම්තුමන් හා සෞඛ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂතුමන්ව අප සිහිපත් කරමූ.
