FEmpower is a grassroot movement founded by the I'vent Event Productions which aims towards the Empowerment of the Sri Lankan women who are marginalized due to various Social,ethical, and Economic reasons. We hope to achieve gender equality and raise awareness about all forms of Violence against women, as well as ensure peaceful and cooperative activism Islandwide. The initiative will be led by vibrant, passion driven young women and men, providing a launching pad for the community itself to take part in the eradication of discrimination,repression and suppression. FEmpower strives to promote Gender equality and work towards the eradication of all forms of Gender based discrimination while encouraging women’s health Islandwide with the use of progressive activism. Being a Patriarchal society, women are subjected to many forms of discrimination,oppression and suppression. It begins with poverty and spreads towards raw sexism. Street Harassment and rape hold a significant place in the marginalization of women. We would like to raise awareness, and aim at changing the individual attitude towards the identification of women. Initiate a new order where women are protected by all of the society, big and small, instead of protecting women from men.
