Boost your mood when you are feeling low

For times when you are feeling low and having trouble connecting with others and what’s going on around you it can be helpful to check back in with yourself. By reaching out to your loved ones or support circle you can get back to feeling more like yourself, putting yourself in a better mood.

1. Connect with a friend, colleague or family member.
2. Talk to someone about how you are feeling.
(make sure they are someone who listens.)
3. Try and engage in some light physical activity or exercise.
(a walk can be a great way to boost mood.)
4. Plan some time into your day where you can rest and relax.
5. Schedule in an activity that provides you with a sense of pleasure and achievement.
6. Reach out to a close family member and ask for some support or help.
7. Get outside or outdoor and connect with nature.
(Use all your senses to stay focused on the present moment.)
8. Engage in an activity that soothes and calms both your mind and body. (Breathing exercises can be really useful.)
9. Treat yourself as you’d treat a good friend.
