Today, our first batch of NVQ Level 4 students successfully completed their first assessment through group presentations on Anatomy and Physiology.
Each group had the opportunity to present various anatomy-related health topics. The main purpose of this activity was to promote teamwork, encourage self-directed research, and help students develop confidence in delivering academic content.

We are proud of their dedication and enthusiasm as they take their first steps toward becoming competent healthcare professionals.

🚑 Empowering the Next Generation of Lifesavers! 🚑
We are thrilled to share highlights from Day 01 of the Basic First Aid Program, organized by the VHC Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Vavuniya for the current NVQ 3 & 4 Nursing Assistance Students.

This vital training is being conducted in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (Vavuniya Branch) Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Vavuniya Branch to our students with the essential skills needed to handle emergencies and save lives.

We are excited to share that our first batch of NVQ Level 4 Nursing Assistant classes has officially started! 🎉

Students have begun learning Anatomy & Physiology, and alongside theory, they are actively engaged in hands-on clinical simulations to strengthen practical skills.

As part of the Cardiovascular System module, students were trained in measuring Blood Pressure, using an interactive smart classroom, patient visualization, and supervised practice — creating a real clinical learning environment.

Institute of Allied Health Sciences Vavuniya is a new nursing training institute committed to developing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals to meet national and international healthcare standards. We focus on academic excellence, clinical competency, and ethical healthcare practice.

We are seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced, and committed professional for the following position.

Position:
Visiting Lecturer – Anatomy & Physiology (Part time) (on-campus)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Key Responsibilities
• Planning, preparation, and delivery of Anatomy & Physiology lectures and practical sessions for nursing and allied health science students.
• Teaching Anatomy & Physiology using a body systems approach, integrating theory with clinical relevance.
• Preparation and updating of lesson plans, lecture notes, handouts, and learning materials in accordance with the institute curriculum and requirment of clincal lead.
• Conducting and supervising theory and practical assessments, examinations, and evaluation of student assignments.
• Ensuring alignment of teaching content with academic objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting students’ academic progress and providing guidance during course delivery.
• Maintaining academic standards and complying with institutional policies and professional guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS / B.Sc. in Nursing / or a related qualification from a recognized university
• Excellent communication, presentation, and instructional skills.
• Ability to teach effectively in a student-centred and practice-oriented learning environment.
AND/OR
• Postgraduate qualification or teaching experience in Anatomy & Physiology will be an added advantage.
• Prior teaching experience will be an added advantage.
