Day 5: A Meaningful Close to Our IWD Week

We successfully concluded our International Women’s Day Week celebrations with an impactful session on “Burnout Prevention and Work-Life Balance for Healthcare Professionals” at Hemas Hospitals Sri Lanka Wattala. Led by Apeksha Jayaweera, the session brought together our healthcare teams to reflect on an important truth while we dedicate ourselves to caring for others, our own wellbeing matters just as much.

We marked the 02nd edition of “Move, Relax & Glow”, specially curated for Women’s Day 2026 at Hemas Hospitals Sri Lanka Thalawathugoda, dedicated to our incredible women team members.

Day 3 of Women’s Day 2026 Celebrations at Hemas Hospitals & Laboratories

The day began on a powerful note at Hemas Hospitals Sri Lanka Wattala with a Self Defence and Legal Awareness session focused on building confidence, personal safety and awareness among our team.

Participants learned practical self defence techniques from Kunchana Ranasinghe, Director and Chief Instructor of Krav Maga Sri Lanka, while Wijesena Withana, Retired Chief Inspector of Police and Law Enforcement Consultant at the National Women and Child Protection Authority, shared valuable insights on women’s legal rights and protections.

It was a meaningful session that reminded us how important it is to feel informed, confident and supported both at work and beyond.

MORE Forward | FY26 Acceleration Workshop ❤️

At Hemas Hospitals and Laboratories, we do not do typical trainings; we bring energy, interaction and a bit of a celebration into every learning experience.

We brought together our laboratory leaders for a full day workshop of aligning priorities, sharing ideas and gearing up for the year ahead. We talked strategy, innovation, governance and key projects across the network whilst focusing on how we move faster and perform better together.

A special highlight was the inspiring address by our Managing Director, reminding us of the bigger vision we are all working towards.

Since it was Valentine’s Day, we also took time to celebrate appreciation, team spirit and the strong bonds that make Hemas feel like more than just a workplace.
