A moment to pause

At the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program, we are reminded every day that healing takes time.

If today feels difficult, take a moment for yourself.
Rest. Breathe. Keep going.

Every step forward, no matter how small, matters.

๐Ÿ’š Be kind to yourself

๐Ÿ™ A Moment of Faith, Unity and Hope

At the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program, moments of prayer and community play an important role in the journey of healing and wellbeing.

Recently, residents, staff and members of the community came together in a special celebration filled with reflection, gratitude and shared hope. Gatherings like these remind us that recovery is not only about treatment, but also about belonging, dignity and spiritual support.

Through faith, companionship and care, we continue to build an environment where every person feels valued and encouraged.

Thank you to everyone who took part in making this moment so meaningful.

โœจ Dignity. Respect. Hope.

These values guide everything we do at the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program.

Every person deserves to be treated with compassion, to be heard without judgement and to be supported in their journey.

We are committed to creating a space where recovery is possible and hope is real.

๐ŸŒฟ Small moments, real impact

At the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program, recovery is built through everyday moments.

Sometimes, it is a conversation.
Sometimes, a shared smile.
Sometimes, simply feeling safe.

These moments help rebuild confidence, trust and hope.

Because care is not only about treatmentโ€”it is about connection.

๐Ÿค Awareness & Outreach in Action

At the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program, we continue working to promote mental health and community wellbeing through meaningful outreach initiatives.

Recently, we organised an awareness programme for individuals facing challenges related to substance use. The session focused on providing clear, practical information about addiction, its impact, and the pathways towards recovery.

Through open dialogue and counselling, participants were encouraged to share their experiences, break down stigma and begin to explore positive steps towards change. Creating a safe space for conversation is often the first step towards healing.

We also highlighted the importance of seeking timely professional support and introduced the different resources available to support recovery journeys within the community.

A special thank you to Jeety Corporation for their generous support in providing meals for participants. Their contribution went beyond nourishmentโ€”it reflected the compassion and solidarity that make initiatives like this possible.

Together, through awareness, care and collaboration, we can build stronger, healthier communities and restore hope.

World Health Day | 7 April

Today, we take a moment to reflect on what health truly means. It is not only about the physicalโ€”it is about dignity, wellbeing and the opportunity to live a meaningful life.

At the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Centre: Step Down Unit Program, we see every day how essential mental health care is. We believe that there is no health without mental health.

Many of the people we support face not only their condition, but also stigma and barriers to care. That is why our work goes beyond treatment. We provide a safe and supportive environment where each person is valued, heard and accompanied on their journey towards recovery.

This World Health Day, we are reminded that care, compassion and understanding can transform lives.

๐Ÿ’š Every life matters.
๐Ÿ’š Every person deserves dignity and hope.

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

People living with mental health conditions can recover, work, learn, have relationships and live in the community with the right support.

Mental illness is not a curse and it is not something to be ashamed of.

Support, understanding and treatment can change lives.

Together we can reduce stigma and support recovery in our communities.

At the Step Down Unit, participants take part in different activities that help them develop skills for independent living and community reintegration.

Activities may include gardening, cooking, cleaning, crafts, group activities and life skills training.

These activities help participants build routine, responsibility, confidence and social skills.

Step by step, rehabilitation helps people prepare to return to their families and communities.

Mothers are expected to be strong.

To cope.
To give.
To hold everything together.

But who listens to them?

In Liberia, many mothers carry the silent weight of anxiety, exhaustion and emotional pressure.

Through community spaces, we create something simple but powerful:
a place where they can speak, be heard and feel understood.

Because struggling does not mean failing.

And being heard can be the first step towards healing.
