Kids In Media Liberia Ends Two Days Media Training at Beautiful Beginning School.
The training was held over the weekend at the edifice of the school, in City View Community, Lower Johnsonville with over 20 members of the Voice of Beautiful Beginning - VOBB in attendance.
The two days impactful media training was an initiative of Kids in Media Liberia , a non for profit organization that focus on "Children Development".
Mr. George K. Momo, Executive Director, of Kids in Media Liberia, told reporters that the training workshop was an eye opener for the student journalists adding it also provided them the basic of journalism.
He said, the inspiring journalists were drilled in key topics such as; introduction to journalism, news writing, news casting and interview techniques among others.
Mr. Momo indicated that the training has sharpened the skills of the student journalists in information gathering noting they are now prepared to play their roles on campus as watch-dogs.
"We are into this breed future journakists, and work on the reading, writing and speaking skills of our Elementary Schools students in Monrovia. It's our hope that we can get the needed support to do more" he pointed out.
The Kids in Media Liberia boss has pledged his organization full support to the Voice of Beautiful Beginning by ensuring technical and moral suppors are provided.
Meanwhile, Mr. George K. Momo, is however calling on the school’s administration to ensure support is provided to the Press Club for smooth operations.
Madam Theresa S. Crowford, Principal of Beautiful Beginning Day Care and Preparatory School remarking minutes after the training workshop said, extra-curriculum activities on campus will buttress students classroom learning.
"I urge you all to take advantage of journalism as means of improving your writing, reading and speaking skills" she cautioned.
The care-giver and educator commended Kids in Media Liberia, for including Beautiful Beginning Day Care and Preparatory School in her 2024/2025, Kids Media Program for Elementary Schools in Monrovia.
Madam Crowford promised the administration support to the Press Club adding she will do all in her power to ensure the Voice of Beautiful Beginning - VOBB is fully supported.
She is however calling on parents of the school to encourage their children to take advantage of extra-curriculum activities on campus noting it will put them on path with their colleagues in other path with their colleagues in other parts of the country, the sub-region and the world at large.
Mr. Alex Swen, speaking on behalf of the coordinators of the Voice of Beautiful Beginning said, to jump start news presentation on campus, VOBB will present once a week.
He disclosed that Wednesday has been set aside as day for news presentation on campus happenings during devotion.
He added that plans are under way to ensure there is news presentation more than once a week noting they are working out mechanisms to ensure the plans are executed void of failure.
The Voice of Beautiful Beginning coordinator further that all news presentation by the Press Club during devotion, chapel services and PTA meetings will be live on Kids TV Liberia, an online platform owned and operated by Kids in Media Liberia.
Mr. Swen showered praises on Kids in Media Liberia for the impactful training and urged the management to ensure more trainings of such are conducted.
Meanwhile, the Voice of Beautiful Beginning coordinator is however challenging the student journalists to be agents of change on campus.
He wants them discharge their duties on campus without fear or favor something he asserted will be require of them in the larger society.
Both Kelvin Momo and Success Howe speaking on behalf of the participants extended commendation to the school administration for initiating such extra-curriculum activity on campus.
The pair also appreciated the management of Kids in Media Liberia for the training and promised to put in practice the knowledge acquire.
They however added their voices to that of their head coordinator, pleading with the organizer for more trainings that will adequately prepare them to rub intellectual muscles with their peers in other parts of Liberia and the world by extension.
