Su***de is something that has a lot of stigmatization and controversies but yet we loose over 700,000 people to su***de annually. We need to provide more education and awareness on Mental Health and Su***de, create safe spaces and increase equitability, affordability and accessibility to mental healthcare and other psychosocial services.Su***de is preventable, together, we can save lives.Mental health is as important as physical health.Su***de is real. ***depreventionmonth ***depreventionawarenessmonth

Imagine, we loose 1 person in every 40 seconds (WHO), this is so alarming but yet there’s a lot of stigmatization and controversy surrounding it.

Su***de is very complex and it’s the final symptom of a mental illness. It’s not only tied to those with mental illnesses but also those suffering from other life crises.

Mental health is real
Su***de is real
Let’s spread love and kindness

Let’s remind ourselves today and everyday to look out for each other and treat others with love and compassion.

Su***de has a high mortality rate but yet it can be one of the most preventable crises.

Globally over 700000 persons die by su***de every year with men mortality rate higher than women. Also, it is the 3rd leading cause of death among people aged 15- 29.

Let’s continue to promote a culture of love and support to prevent Su***de.

Annually, over 700,000 people die by su***de (WHO) and yet there are a lot of controversies and stigma around it despite it being a public health emergency.

It is one of leading causes of deaths among young people (ages 15 to 29) and for every su***de, there are estimates of 20 or more attempts. (WHO)

For those who suffer from suicidal ideations and attempts, “Your story isn’t over yet, we see you and we’re here for you”. There’s no shame in seeking help and it’s not a sign of weakness but of strength.

Let’s stop shaming the victims of su***de, suicidal ideations, suicidal planning and suicidal attempts but rather show them love and support and refer them to the right sources to seek help.

Every life matters. Together, we can end the stigma, raise awareness, and prevent su***de.

We were honored to have our Executive Director, Sandra Jumah Dorbor, attend the 35th memorial service for victims and survivors of the July 29, 1990 St. Peter's Lutheran Church massacre, organized by LUMASA. This tragic event resulted in the loss of approximately 600 lives, leaving deep physical and psychological wounds.

We express our gratitude to the organizers for honoring the victims and for inviting our organization. As a mental health awareness and advocacy group, we recognize the lasting impact of this event on the community. We'll continue to advocate for professional mental health services to support those affected.

Key Issues:
- Mental Health Support: Providing professional services for war-affected individuals
- Community Awareness: Creating awareness about mental health issues
- Healing as a Nation: Pushing for a comprehensive plan to support all in need

We thank our volunteers and partners for their support in serving our communities. Let's work together towards healing and providing mental health support to those who need it. !
