After a lot of thought about what feels authentic to me in building a business that honors all the gifts I have to offer the world - I have merged cosmic path birth services into an merged business - The Woke Womb Space ✨ Aside from birth work (Doula & Childbirth Education), I am offering my Astrology services, as well as Cyclical Living and Manifestation Coaching.

I am a professional astrologer (western/tropical) and have been practicing, learning and growing as one for the past 4 years. I do full birth chart reports, personal monthly astrological forecasts, career & purpose readings as well as child/parent synastry reports. I am very well rounded and skilled in all of these areas, but the parent/child relationship through astrology is my specialty and I am passionate about using it to help families raise strong, happy and nurtured kids. (If I have ever given you any type of Astrology Reading or guidance before, I would love if you could head over and leave a review for me on my page!)

As a Cyclical Living and Manifestation Coach, I help young entrepreneurs learn to lean into our natural energy cycles (seasonal, lunar & menstrual) and use them as a frame work for business, pleasure and life in general. I also focus on manifesting success and happiness through the law of attraction and using the cosmos to support you on your journey towards fulfillment.

If this is something that interests you, or if you are just curious, head over and give my page a like, follow me on Instagram at and check out my website http://www.thewokewombspace.com

✨💖🌙 thank you for everyone who has supported me through all of my work and growth to present myself authentically and proudly in my business and life!

The Woke Womb Space - Astrologer. Cyclical Living Coach. Manifestation. Birthworker. Learn how to birth, parent and live in your own cosmic power.

In January I had the blessing of serving this beautiful mama as she brought her first son earthside 💗 she fought tooth and nail for the birth she wanted, and despite some bumps in the road and diversions from plan she had a powerful finish. She pushed out her first child unmedicated and on her own terms - despite countless roadblocks along the way. I watched her come into her power and transform into a mother. It took my breath away. It also affirmed the power of showing up as a birth doula. When things don't go as planned, just being there to support birthing people with words of affirmation and validation makes a great difference. Welcome to Earth, tiny Capricorn babe - be kind to that strong, fearless mother of yours 🤱

AMAZING, BRILLIANT! ✨

Every hospital needs these, beds 🙌
The idea that you carry a baby inside your womb for 9 months and then, when you birth them, you are forced to keep them a foot away from you in their own bassinet is archaic and even a little traumatic. My 3 day stay in the hospital I didn't sleep at all because I didn't want to put him down. Any time he was removed from me he cried and my intuition told me he needed to be close to my body. These beds would be such a game changer.

Who else needs these hospital beds available in Jax, ASAP? 🙋‍♀️

I always urge my clients to seek a second (or third) opinion when they are being denied a VBAC or suggested a scheduled cesarean with no evidence to back it.

It is okay to change providers at ANY point in your pregnancy, especially if your original provider does not align with your values or respect your rights as a birthing person. Your doctors work for YOU. Hospital protocol isn't the law and it is always in your right to deny any suggestion the doctor makes or to request a second opinion elsewhere.

It can be scary, intimidating and stressful for parents to think about switching care providers - especially later in their pregnancy. It is even more scary, intimidating and stressful to stay with a care provider who disrespects, manipulates or denies you the right to a safe and supported birth. Know your rights. Ask questions. Follow your parental intuition. Most importantly, if you want unbiased support and information based solely on clinical research and scientific evidence - hire a Doula as part if your birth team!

WERE YOU TOLD?
The manufacturer of Pitocin recommends AGAINST ITS USE for elective induction of labor due to lack of data showing the risks vs. benefits.
Pitocin is a SYNTHETIC FORM of the hormone OXYTOCIN that is made naturally by our bodies. Oxytocin is referred to as the "LOVE HORMONE" as it plays a role in bonding with partners and our children.
Oxytocin also stimulates uterine contractions and the letdown of breast milk. Pitocin is NOT, however, the same as oxytocin, and our bodies do not react to it in the same way.
Uterine contractions are often STRONGER, LONGER, and CLOSER TOGETHER than those initiated by the body’s natural oxytocin, which often leads people to ask for pain relief that they had not originally wanted. It can also lead to the baby not tolerating the contractions well, since they are being squeezed more tightly and for longer, giving their heart less time to recover. This can lead to further interventions, including a c-section for “fetal distress”.
Research shows that Pitocin also doesn’t cross the blood-brain barrier, meaning that BONDING with the newborn CAN BE DISRUPTED in those given Pitocin.

As a birth worker, understanding racism and white privilege and their links to our maternal mortality rates in this country are IMPERATIVE.

Black women die due to childbirth related complications at 4 times the rate of white women in America. More than 90% of these deaths were 100% preventable.

These mothers are dying because of a gross disrespect and neglect from their care providers because of their race. They are dying unjust and PREVENTABLE deaths in the hands of people they trusted with their lives.

Until you acknowledge these facts and do the work, it is impossible to be the best Birth Doula you can be.

Our ever-evolving list of books, podcasts, and online materials for birth workers and others seeking educate themselves about birth justice and anti-racism.

Yesterday, the President signed a bill that will mandate all federal employees 12 weeks PAID family leave after birth, adoption or foster placement of a child into their care!

This is monumental. This guarantees 12 weeks of bonding time for 2 million mothers and fathers across our country.

Even though it doesn't account for millions of families across the US who will still be without this benefit, it is a huge step in the right direction.

We need to celebrate this success as a community, but continue to push forward until every family in the US has these same rights!

Congrats to all the federal workers, today on this huge win!

THIS.
The gross, inaccurate depiction that Netflix gave of this incredibly invaluable, important and needed resource was embarrassing to say the least.

The term 'Doula' isn't one that is commonly understood in most homes as it is, and introducing the idea of one in this light on an incredibly popular Netflix show is irresponsible.

The International Doula Institute did an incredible job respectfully expressing their concerns on this episode and breaking down what Postpartum Doulas ACTUALLY do.

Check out the article below 👇

Thank you Fuller House for having a doula for Stephanie! If only the doula was trained at the International Doula Institute.... I actually wonder if your writers assumed that the audience is young, hip and well educated on doulas, since humor is often based on something being unexpected, and the por...

Almost 8,000 feminine hygiene products were donated to the Pinellas County School Board yesterday to help assist Saint Pete area homeless youth fight back against period poverty! Head over to Lady Business and give them a like and a share to keep up with what they are doing and how you can help. 💗

What is period poverty?
For the 25 million women/ menstruating people that live beneath the poverty line in the USA, menstrual hygiene products are a commodity. A lot of them can not afford tampons, pads or menstrual cups. Teens living under the poverty line often miss school during menstruation, negatively affecting their education.

Here in Duval County 15,000 students are listed as homeless and have increased a staggering 145% in just the past year. More than half of these homeless youth menstruate. How can we be more inspired by this Pinellas County cause and bring it to the First Coast? ✊👏

As a medical student I had at most, an hour of training on obtaining informed consent and only for medical procedures - not medication use. That consisted of making sure you read a patient the risks of a procedure and had them sign the form confirming this. It did not include actually explaining the risks - just reading a list of them to someone who was feeling unwell and vulnerable, but at the same time, influencing them by telling them how much they need the procedure. The implications of the risks tended to be minimized, rather than personalized - as in this is what this could really mean for you if this horrible thing happens. No breadth of alternatives were given.

In the clinic, pharmaceuticals, invasive tests, and procedures were usually afforded much less informed consent time - if any. Usually a prescription is just written, it's assumed the patient will take it, and no risks are communicated.

Comments like "I'm just going to do a little snip because I don't like your baby's heartbeat" (l heard that one not too long ago; I stopped the OB from doing it; baby was born 30 seconds later, no problems), the vaginal exam someone went to do without even waking a sleeping mother (that person got stopped in their tracks, too!); the medication put in the IV without the patient being told....ALL NOT OKAY.

EVERY exam, EVERY procedure, EVERY medication REQUIRES your INFORMED consent (unless a dire emergency or you're medically unable to give consent, like you're unconscious, or delirious and it's a lifesaving intervention). That means you get to ask questions until you understand AND you can SAY NO. Or I'd like to think about that. Consent doesn't just mean someone reads a list of possible risks or tells you it's needed. It's a full explanation of RISKS and ALTERNATIVES. AND what happens if you say no or wait.

Yet this is not happening!Let's take hysterectomy, for example: AT LEAST 20% are considered medically entirely unnecessary, and only 30% of women advised to have a hysterectomy, of a study of over 5,000 women, were informed of non-surgical alternatives by their doctor. Women in their 30s were the least likely to be informed!
