Most women don’t actually see their lab results.
You go to your appointment,
they do a Pap smear (checking the cells),
sometimes an HPV test (checking the virus)…
and then you’re told something like
“everything looks fine”
or
“it’s still there”
And that’s it.
But those two things —
what you’re told vs what’s actually on the report —
are not the same.
I had a client recently who told me her Doctor said everything was fine.
Which is great, I was thrilled for her 🤍
But I still asked her to get a copy so we could actually look at it properly.
And once we had it, we could see:
– was it a Pap smear or an HPV test (or both)? 🔍
– which HPV strains were actually tested?
– does it actually say “HPV detected” or “not detected”?
Just seeing it written there, clearly, makes a difference.
Because if you’re currently HPV positive,
you want to know exactly what you’re dealing with.
And if things improve later,
you want to be able to compare it properly.
Otherwise, you’re just relying on memory
or a quick explanation in an appointment.
So if you’ve never asked for your results before —
it’s really worth doing.
It just makes things feel a lot more clear ✨
