The International Romani Union (IRU) hereby reaffirms its full support of Mr. Veljko Kajtazi and his candidature for the Romani elect special representative to the Croatian Parliament shared with members of eleven other national minorities in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Croatia.

Mr. Kajtazi has already proven his ability to successfully represent all twelve national minorities in the Croatian Parliament. His initiatives, on both national and international level, have had a very strong and positive impact on the Roma community in Croatia.

Through his tireless efforts and numerous initiatives, Mr. Kajtazi has helped the Roma people to come close to achieving their goals which include their right to education and health care, adequate housing conditions and many more. Equally important, his efforts and support to the Roma community have established the Roma as a respectful interlocutor in communication with local and international institutions and organization in Croatia.

During his two terms as a member of the Croatian parliament Mr. Kajtazi ensured that the Romani genocide victims in the World War II are remembered and commemorated.

He worked tirelessly to preserve the Romani language. Mr. Kajtazi has been working on numerous projects with aim to preserve the Romani culture and traditions. His achievements include establishment of the Central Roma library in Zagreb and the Roma memorial centre in Uštica.

Mr. Kajtazi has been actively taking part in all important initiatives of the International Romani Union (IRU).

IRU highly appreciates Mr. Kajtazi's contribution to the development of world Roma culture and history, as well as the model he developed in Croatia could serve as an example of Roma integration for all European countries.

Starptautiskās Romu Apvienības prezidents Normunds Rudevics piedalās atceres pasākumā, kas veltīts Romu Samudaripen, Ušticā, Horvātijā 2017.gada 2.augustā.

Romu Holokausta konferencē 2016.gadā Jūrmalā, Latvijā Starptautiskās Romu Apvienības prezidijs un kabinets apstiprināja un parakstīja deklarāciju un rezolūciju par Romu Holokausta oficiālu nosaukuma maiņu uz Samudaripen.

2017.gada 2 augustā pirmo reizi oficiāli, valsts līmenī tika atzīmēts Romu Samudaripen Horvātijā, kurā piedalījās Horvātijas valdības pārstāvji, vēstnieki, ārvalstu delegāti un vietējie romu tautības pārstāvji. Kopā atceres pasākumā piedalījās ap 5 000 cilvēku.

At the Roma Holocaust Conference in 2016, the Presidium and Cabinet of the International Romani Union in Latvia approved and signed a declaration and resolution on the official change of title of the Roma Holocaust Samudaripen.

On August 2, 2017, for the first time officially, at the national level, the Roma Samudaripen in Croatia was celebrated, attended by representatives of the Croatian government, ambassadors, foreign delegates and local Roma representatives. A total of 5,000 people took part in the memorial event.

LV: Jauna izstāde mūsu muzejā. "Miranda - čigānu Holokausts" Izstāde uzsāka savu Eiropas turneju. Gribām pateikties Vejo Baltcaram par fantastiski paveikto darbu, Rīgas Domes priekšsēdētājam N.Ušakova kungam par atbalstu, Romu Apvienības Prezidentam Dr.Normundam Rudevičam par sadarbību, fantastistiskajam "Ame Roma" par noskaņojumu un visiem mūsu viesim par piedalīšanos atklāšanā.

Unikāla starptautiska izstāde "Miranda: čigānu Holokausts", kura ir izveidota Somijā, sāk savu starptautisko turneju
Izstādi izgatavoja pasaulē nopelniem bagātais kultūras darbinieks, slavens čigānu rakstnieks un gleznotājs Veiho Balcars. Projekts "Ar Mirandas Acīm" ir veltīts starpkultūru dialoga radīšanai un Eiropas vēstures apmācības atjaunošanai. Miranda - čigānu Anna Franka, kas pārstāv jaunu un inovatīvu izstādes koncepciju, ka ari starptautisku brendu. Projekts piesaistīja lielu uzmanību, konkrētāk, tāpēc, ka tas kļuva par pirmo Holokausta izstādi, ko radīja paši čigāni Somijā. Projekta ietvaros izstāde apceļos 20 valstis. No 15.maija līdz 15.septembrim ar izstādi varēs iepazīties Rīgas Geto un Latvijas Holokausta Muzejā.
