🥜 Peanut butter for heart health? Yes - science says it can help.

Peanut butter isn’t just delicious- it’s also a great choice if you’re after a spread that contains protein and fibre and supplies your body with healthy fats.

Peanuts are rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, all of which support heart health. Regular, moderate consumption of natural peanut butter may help:
• Lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol
• Increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol
• Raise vitamin and mineral levels such as vitamin E, vitamin B6, potassium and magnesium

Try to find a peanut butter with less additives, such as sugar, emulsifiers and added oils, where you can. No matter your preference - crunchy or smooth - peanut butter is equally beneficial for heart health.

Understanding your stressors is the first step to finding more balance. 💭

Chronic stress can also increase your chances of developing a range of health conditions.

When prolonged, stress keeps activating the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis (which connects your brain to your body) and floods the body with cortisol, which can affect your sleep, immune system, and emotional wellbeing.

Your gut microbiome is a powerhouse - and fermented foods may help it thrive. 🔬

Regularly consuming foods containing probiotics like some yogurts, kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, and kombucha may support gut health.

Why does it matter? Probiotics may:
• Be beneficial for certain health conditions
• Support immune function
• Reduce inflammation

Feed your microbiome. Support your whole-body health.

Protein is more than just a muscle-builder - it's a metabolic powerhouse.

✅ Stimulates muscle protein synthesis
✅ Enhances satiety and appetite regulation
✅ Increases thermogenesis and fat oxidation
✅ Supports bone density and injury recovery
✅ Preserves lean mass during ageing and weight loss

Optimal intake can positively impact everything from metabolic health to body composition. Aim for high-quality sources like legumes, eggs, dairy, lean meats, tofu, and fish to meet your daily needs.

🧬 Your biological age may tell more about your health than your birth certificate.
Unlike chronological age, biological age reflects the true physiological wear and tear on your body - and it’s measurable.

Current tools to estimate biological age include:
• Epigenetic clocks based on DNA methylation patterns
• Telomere length as a marker of cellular aging
• Phenotypic biomarkers like blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, inflammation levels
• Multi-system algorithms combining metabolic, cardiovascular, renal, and immune indicators

Biological age is emerging as a dynamic, actionable measure of longevity risk and healthspan potential.

Running isn’t just for cardio - it’s linked to living longer.

Research suggests runners have:
✅ 25–40% lower risk of early death
✅ Up to 45% lower risk of dying from heart disease
✅ Gain ~3 extra years of life expectancy than non-runners

Just 5–10 minutes of slow running a day can make a difference.
It’s not about pace or distance - consistency matters most.

What qualifies as a superfood? 🥬
Scientifically speaking, there’s no standardized definition.

The term “superfood” is sometimes used to describe foods and beverages that may be full of nutrients and can be enjoyed as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

These foods may be rich in key food groups such as protein or dietary fibre, or micronutrients like iron, calcium or vitamin B12.

According to the National Institute on Ageing, the secret to staying strong and energized is mixing it up with these 3 types of exercise:

✨ Endurance (think walking or dancing)
🧘 Balance (hello, Tai Chi!)
💪 Strength (bodyweight or light weights)

No matter your age or fitness level, every move counts toward a healthier you. Ready to start?

🍊Your body can’t store or make its own Vitamin C - so daily intake from food and drink is a must!

This powerhouse nutrient supports your immune system, boosts iron absorption, and by supporting normal collagen levels, it supports healthy skin, teeth and gums.

The NHS recommends a minimum 40mg of vitamin C a day for an adult.
