Cherished Nomad Cecilia | Wellness Coach

Empowering you through Mindset, Movement, and Nutrition to create a life filled with joy and wellness. Traveler, writer, teacher.

If you’ve got five seconds:

Hello, I’m Cecilia and this blog is dedicated to my year off to explore food, travelling, fitness and all of those other things that I love and sharing them with friends and family on here. If you’ve got a bit longer:

After graduating from City University in July 2013 with a Journalism BA degree I decided to take a so called “gap yah” to explore the world and find out what really makes me tick. So far that has involved making the decision to train with Body Control Pilates to become a Pilates teacher as well as a bunch of travelling. This blog is my way of keeping my passion for writing alive as well as informing friends and family all over the world what I’m up to. There’ll be some posts on news that I find interesting, recipes that I love as well as some other more personal stuff. Hope you enjoy, and leave a comment if there’s anything you’re wondering about! Namaste y’all.

The latest CherishedNomad podcast episode is here and with it my tips on how to deal with the outside world!

Swipe through this thread for the TLDR version and then head over to your usual podcast platform to listen to this episode.

You’ll find a mini meditation at the end of it to really help you combine all of this together.

Wore a cape. Got told I look like Batman.🦇
It was a good day.

😂

Gosh it feels good to be running on gratitude again! For a while I neglected my meditation and gratitude practice and wow it didn’t feel good.

Anxiety, worry, and just generally not feeling like myself all part of the daily.

Then I added back in my 10 minute morning ritual from on , restarted yoga + mindful movement, and began the work by .holistic.psychologist

Is it perfect now? No.
Do I wake up feeling like 👑 🐝 each day? No.
Is the worry and self negativity completely gone? No.

But I’m feeeeeling goooood. (Sung as Nina Simone).

Just wanted to share this as a reminder that even if you’re professionally trained in self development and love doing the work you sometimes come out of it, especially in these crazy times.

Whatever stage you’re in today, take a second and answer the below for yourself (or leave them in the comments):

1. What’s three things that have made you smile today?
2. What’s something about yourself you’re proud of?
3. What are you excited about?

Sending you joy!

Some thought candy for you today to help you expand into joy and happiness.

We as humans are designed to focus on the negatives in a situation.

It helped us as a humanity to stay cautious and evolve in our early days. Today it can cause problems though when we, on the whole, don’t need to worry as much about basic every day safety and staying alive.

So if you’re in a situation that keeps causing you frustration or you feel is clouding your life, try asking yourself these questions.

It helps you recognize the good.
It can help you see the majority of the negative is created in our mind, and if it is our mind then we can take control of that.
The things we cannot, we can learn to let go of or stop blaming others for.
Refocus yourself on the good stuff when you feel a spiraling into our created world vision.
Then learn to extend your view from just your own small planet to the universe that is circling around you.
When you lift your gaze from your feet and see what is happening around you, it’s easier to see that most of the things causing you stress are truly just insignificant in the great scheme of things.

Sending you courage to bravely conquer your worries today 🙏✨💫

Today’s mantra:
Small change. Big return.

Some examples of one degree changes:
- going to bed 30 minutes earlier.
- cutting out one cup of coffee.
- committing to 15 minutes of stretching daily.
- drinking water instead of soda at one meal.
- listing 5 things you are grateful for.
- taking three deep breaths before a meal.

What’s your one degree of change today?

Embrace your darkness🖤.

Scorpio season hit yesterday and I immediately started dressing like a modern witch 🧙‍♀️ 😉 who else felt the shift?

One of bigger shifts in life though is when we go from seeing things as black and white and able to see all the nuances of grey in between.

✨Notice and recognize your darker aspects.

✨Know when you’ve been the one to wrong rather than wronged.

✨There’s power in your weaknesses. See them.

✨Those negative feelings have value too.

✨That leather jacket looks awesome on you. 😉

Night and day.
Black and white.
Yin and yang.

Tell me a moment when you realised this for yourself below.

Unfortunately for most of us we don’t hear the whispering of our body until it is too late.
Disease, heart break and so many more life shattering moments could be prevented if we just noticed the signs a little earlier.

I understand. Change is never easy.
Especially when it involves another person who you don’t want to hurt.
Especially when it means taking a big risk.
Especially when you don’t know what will come next.
Especially when it means trusting yourself.
I’ve been there too.

The thing is, you know what is right the first time your body whispers.
Listen to it then.
Otherwise it will make you hear it in other ways.

💫

You can learn about how to listen to the whispers in “The Wellness Code”

If you started following me years ago, you will see that my life has changed a lot and so has the content I share on here too. If you’ve just recently joined the tribe, welcome. You’re finding me in probably the most experimental part of my life, and I hope you enjoy the variety as much as I do.
However a little reintroduction feels needed.

🙋🏼‍♀️ Hi, I’m Cecilia, a swede raised in England now living in the south of France.I am 29, but most days I feel closer to 22. The other days I swear I am 6.
🌊 I’m obsessed with sunrises and sunsets, the moon and the stars and the ocean. I find signs in everything.
🙏I’ve dabbled in multiple religions, and found they are not for me, but I do believe in a greater power, kindness, joy and love.
Depending upon what you believe in I am a seeker/cancer/projector/ISFJ/penguin…..
🥰I suffered from general illness and low self esteem/confidence growing up. I still struggle with some points but I am enjoying every minute of this journey and the lessons I am taught and now my passion is to help others through it too.
🧘‍♀️ I teach and practice wellness on your own terms. I am a yoga and pilates teacher, personal trainer, nutrition and holistic lifestyle coach. To me wellness is a balanced and unconscious approach to life. Earlier this year I released a book called The Wellness Code in which I describe in detail how you can achieve this for yourself too.
💫Cherished Nomad came about because I wanted to teach women how to fully cherish themselves while being at a stage in my life where I felt rootless - nomadic.
❤️I am fascinated by how relationships play a role in wellbeing, and have gone through multiple roles (single, married, divorced) in learning so. This is why recently I’ve become more vocal about it online and I’ve found a great partner who offers up another perspective on lots of the topics discussed.
🧖‍♀️Recently I’ve become involved in my family’s cosmetic project which will launch this Christmas. I work the marketing and design development angle and I am fully loving every second of it.

If you’ve made it this far, well done! Please share with me who you are below and let’s grow together 🙏💫

Grace and gratitude.

Yesterday I learned that the two stem from the same Latin word root, Gratus.

To me that makes perfect sense.
There’s a certain grace around the people who live with gratitude in their hearts, and those who are the most grateful are usually also the most graceful.

There is a peace to be found within both these two principles. A quiet happiness.

Live with gratitude.
Live with grace.
