MCLH (Mawlamyine Christian Leprosy Hospital)

MCLH (Mawlamyine Christian Leprosy Hospital) We provide free quality care to patients with leprosy and disabilities and their related health and The hospital was founded by Ms.

Susan Haswell in 1898 with the vision to build and sustain organizational and technical capacity to empower and assist persons affected by leprosy, disability and other significant stigmatizing diseases. Today, our services vary, but our heart to help the people of Myanmar has not changed. We continue to work largely with leprosy, stigmatizing diseases, and disabilities as well as general and reconstructive surgeries, dermatology, ulcer care, nursing education and training, general physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, sign language teaching, special education, and early childhood development programs. The quality care we provide for patients with leprosy and disabilities is free. We are able to do this largely because of the generosity of The Leprosy Mission Canada, England and Wales. We are thankful for our dedicated staff and volunteers who have helped make the vision a reality for the past 100 years. We are excited to continue to provide quality care within these services throughout the next century.
