Extraordinary day #2. Visited MNUMS and marvelled at the quality of the simulation labs. Delivered lectures on laparoscopic surgery. Then off to new Chinggis Khaan museum and finally, a farewell dinner without friends

An extraordinary day. We received a concise and clear framework for future collaboration with our colleagues at Urgoo maternity hospital and then heard from many Epworth Medical Foundation recipients about how they have utilised what they learned in Melbourne to improve healthcare for Mongolian women.

✅️It was a fantastic journey this year in Mongolia for Dr. Beverley Vollenhoven and I with visits to three maternity hospitals, Bayan-Ulgii aimag hospital and University 🏥 hospital, after a day conference at the beginning of our stay.
✅️The conference was attended by 180 delegates and the topics included adenomyosis, laparoscopic surgery, menopause, cervical screening and infertility.
✅️The highlight of our trip was the trip to Bayan-Ulgii aimag with Unurjargal Dr, -Od Oggie and Dagiisuren Tserennadmid.
✅️We lectured on multiple topics to an audience of up to 50 doctors including soum OBGYNs and general practitioners.
✅️Unur operated every day, working on complex surgical conditions. She smiled all the way and the patients were so grateful 🙏
✳️During the stay we went to the Eagle Festival which was amazing! 🙌
✅️The idea for next year is an early summer visit with the provincial trip back to Bayan-Ulgii, this time to include Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, the most beautiful national park within the Altai Mountains ⛰️
