Giving to others is beautiful—but so is giving to yourself.
When we care for everyone else without replenishing, we risk burnout and losing touch with who we are. True self-care isn’t indulgence—it’s the foundation that allows us to show up with love, clarity, and strength.
Our classes are designed as that pause in your week: a space to restore, recharge, and reconnect with yourself, so you can give to others from a place of fullness.
Come as you are, leave nourished. 💛

Ageing gracefully :-)

https://rayogamalta.com/ageing-gracefully-by-ra-yoga-malta/ -'

Ageing gracefully isn’t about holding on to youth or looking younger than your years. Instead, it’s about living your best life — with the physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional balance to enjoy it truly.

Our bodies naturally lose strength, elasticity, and stamina as we age. This is part of life, but it doesn’t mean we must give in to decline. Yoga offers us a way to honour the body at every stage of life. With regular practice, we can slow the ageing process at a cellular level while maintaining mobility, balance, and flexibility — the things that allow us to move more freely and confidently in our day-to-day activities.
We learn to calm the mind and settle the nervous system through yoga
But ageing well is not only about the body. Mental stress has a powerful effect on our health, too. Through yoga, we learn to calm the mind and settle the nervous system. The practice stimulates the vagus nerve, activating the body’s natural relaxation response and creating a sense of inner calm. Over time, this helps reduce stress and support overall well-being.

Now that I am in my sixties, my teaching has evolved alongside me. I design my classes to be accessible to everyone, including older beginners. My approach is adaptable: postures can be practised standing, seated, on the knees, lying down, or even in a chair. This flexibility ensures that individuals can move at their own pace, working safely around any restrictions or limitations.

Ageing may not be a choice — but ageing gracefully certainly is. Yoga is one of the most effective tools to support this journey. My classes combine gentle yet effective yoga, offering a practice that is both accessible and profoundly beneficial. Each session is tailored to the individual’s unique needs, helping you feel stronger, calmer, and more at ease in both body and mind.

If you want to discover how yoga can support your graceful ageing journey, I invite you to join one of my classes. Together, we’ll create a practice that honours your body, calms your mind, and helps you live life with more ease and vitality.

My Approach to Teaching Yoga

When I guide a yoga class, I intend to make yoga accessible to everyone. Whether you are young or older, athletic or out of shape, managing physical restrictions, or navigating mental health challenges, yoga has something to offer you. My role as a teacher is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can explore what that means for your body and mind.

I believe yoga is not about perfect postures or physical performance—it’s about how you feel during and after your practice. Every body is different, and so is every mind. This is why I offer a variety of options and modifications in my classes so you can choose what feels right for you on any given day.

I encourage students to listen to their bodies, honor their limits, and find a balance between effort and ease. Some days, you may feel strong and ready to challenge yourself, while other days, you may need a gentler, more restorative approach. Both are equally valid and valuable.

Yoga, for me, is not one-size-fits-all. It can serve the needs of athletes looking to improve mobility, individuals seeking to rebuild strength, those coping with stress, anxiety, or depression, and anyone simply wishing to pause and reconnect with themselves.

At the heart of my teaching is the belief that yoga is a practice of self-care and self-discovery. It is not about striving for the perfect pose—it’s about cultivating awareness, kindness toward yourself, and a sense of well-being that extends beyond the mat.

Incorporating Positive Psychology in My Yoga Sessions.

I love incorporating positive psychology alongside movement and breath in my yoga classes. For me, yoga isn’t just about stretching the body — it’s also about creating space for the mind and heart to feel lighter and more open.

I often invite my students to set uplifting intentions and reflect on small moments of gratitude. These little practices can significantly shift our mindset and help us carry the benefits of yoga off the mat and into daily life.

Because I believe yoga should also be joyful, sometimes we add moments of playfulness — even laughter. I’ve found that laughter in a yoga class breaks down barriers, releases tension, and reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. It’s an excellent way to connect with the joy inside ourselves.

I always intend to create a space where you feel stronger in body, calmer in mind, and a little more optimistic and uplifted than when you arrived.
