EDU Institute of Higher Education offers a Degree in Medicine combining online study in a digital campus with practical learning in teaching hospitals in Germany. Licensed under the Maltese Education Act with license number 2018-10 by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA). Completing EDU’s Bachelor and Masters of Medicine entitles the holder to apply for approbation throughout t
he EU. EDU’s programme in medicine has been designed to fulfil the requirements to practice as a physician within Europe, including in Germany, in accordance with the EU Directive 2005/36/EG. The Medical Council of Malta is the competent authority for conferring the certificate of equivalence and conformity of the medical programme, amounting to automatic recognition of the degree within Europe. You may consult with the Medical Council of Malta directly. Meanwhile, in order to pursue a license to practice medicine, graduates should apply for individual recognition with the competent local authorities within the desired European Member states. EDU expects its first graduates in 2024.

EDU has received the official international programme accreditations by the German Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (Akkreditierungsagentur im Bereich Gesundheit und Soziales: AHPGS) for our Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Medicine.
AHPGS is approved by the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat) to run system and programme accreditations for higher education institutions and universities on behalf of the competent authorities in each of the sixteen German Federal States.
EDU received the international programme accreditations by the German Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences for the B.Med. and M.Med.

They did it again!
Due to EDU's strong emphasis on ensuring the quality of teaching and learning, its medical students participate in the EBMA International Progress Test (IPT) twice per year. We are thrilled to report that, in the sixth administration of this test, their performance was excellent, surpassing the scores of their counterparts from other institutions.

EDU. A degree smarter is an Institution of Higher Education, operated by Digital Education Holdings Limited (DEH) based in Kalkara, Malta. As the first educational institution of its kind in Europe, EDU has been offering an interactive, digital bachelor and master’s degree in Human Medicine since November 2018. Accreditation for both programmes has been granted by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE) of the Republic of Malta.
The programme consists of a three-year (9 trimesters) bachelor's degree (B. Med.) and a two-year (6 trimesters) master's degree (M. Med.). At the Digital Campus and in hands-on clinical phases at hospitals in Germany from week 10, students learn the scientific and practical basics of human medicine. The study programme meets the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and has a digital catalogue of learning objectives.
