The establishment of a Nutrition and Health Society underlies the need for educating and implementing healthier lifestyle practices among today’s youth for a more secured future in relation to the population’s health. The target encompasses primarily university students and other institutionalised children, elderly and vulnerable groups, but which can be extended to include the general population
in the long run. The society also aims at providing opportunities to clear misconceptions in relation to dietary issues while optimising correct food choices through different educational and social activities. In congregation with consumer awareness programs, the society solicits the availability of nutritionally sound food items at targeted vending points by assisting in menu designs and proposing healthier substitutes.
