We finally got to taste Wazaabi, a small restaurant found in Barkly, Beau Bassin. It is not your typical Japanese sushi, but I was actually very surprised. We ordered the Tempura Fever for 2 and therefore served with 28 pieces of sushi.
There were some prawns tempura, the batter was not like the usual Japanese batter but very crunchy, deep fried and the prawn inside cooked on point. 🍤
The maki they called Krabby had mini crabs deep fried with their mayo etc one of my favs from that platter.
The platter also has some uramaki named Raijin which were made of crab stick salad and shrimp tempura. It also had a thin layer of pineapple on top of it, surprisingly a good combo 🤤
Finally the last badge was another uramaki which closely resembles the Raijin named Shuriken. It was filled with Crab stick salad, salmon and shrimp tempura but was covered with garlic panko instead of the pineapple.
Overall we ate really well for 28 pieces of sushi at rs2000. We also ordered 2 ice tea so the dinner would cost Rs1,100 per pax. The place was small, but clean, had some parkings in front. They take orders so i suppose this works as well.
I’d recommend you the place, and it looks like a small business which i wouldn’t mind helping since they can help with sushi cravings 😁
P.S: they do not propose only a sushi menu, they also have burgers and steak which i probably will try next time 😌 if you tried this place, let me have your views below. 👇🏼
