🌍 Addressing Childhood Obesity: A Shared Responsibility for a Healthier Future

Childhood obesity is one of the most pressing global health challenges of our time, affecting millions of children and adolescents worldwide. If left unaddressed, obesity increases the risk of serious health complications, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other non-communicable diseases later in life.

As healthcare professionals, policymakers, and caregivers, we have a collective responsibility to create environments that foster healthy eating habits, regular physical activity, and equitable access to nutritious food and quality healthcare. Prevention must start early, with education and policies that support healthier lifestyles for children and their families.

On World Obesity Day, the International Pediatric Association reaffirms its commitment to tackling childhood obesity through advocacy, research, and collaboration with global health partners. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy and thrive.

📢 Join us in raising awareness and advocating for policies that prioritize child health!

Today is World Epilepsy Day

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders.
Anyone can develop it at any age. It’s not contagious and it's treatable.
Advices during a seizure:
1.Stay calm with the person until they are awake and alert.
2.Create a safe place. Remove anything near them that can cause an injury.
3.Turn them gently on their side, with their mouth pointing to the ground. This will keep their airway clear.
4.Time the seizure to track if it lasts more than 5 minutes. If it does, seek immediate medical attention or call 114.
5.When the seizure is over, help them sit in a safe place to recover and provide reassurance.
6.DO NOT RESTRAIN THE PERSON.
7.DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THEIR MOUTH.

Today, we unite to raise awareness about cancer and show support for those affected by this disease. Early detection and education are crucial in the fight against cancer.
Every experience with cancer is unique and it will take all of us, united, to create a world where we look beyond the disease and see the person before the patient.

Together, we can make a difference. 💪❤️
