Topic: YOU CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT, WE CAN DO IT
Preacher: Raymond Kaunda
1 Timothy 4:12-16;
We are in a time when a lot is happening in our lives and as believing youth, we need to stand strong in the Lord. Being young adults does not make us young inside of us for we have God who is greater than anyone outside of us. As young people, we can meet people who look down upon us and try to put us down because of our age. Do not let the outside forces influence us.
Romans 8:31;
Exercise this truth by showing the world that we are indeed more than conquerors in whatever we do. We should be the brand ambassadors of the believers. We should set ourselves to be great. Handle yourself with the care of the Lord. Be careful of how you run your life because the world is always watching you and it is waiting for the time that you to slip up and you should not let that happen. Live your life as God wants us to live it.
At times it can happen that you despise yourself and you should not let that affect you. Change your mindset to that which God wants you to have. When you look down on yourself, you leave yourself open to external attacks from your enemy. Do not be afraid, but set an example of a believer. Let your conduct speak of your faith in Christ.
1 Peter 2:9; Philippians 4:13;
We are unlimited in Jesus Christ and He is waiting for us to attain that which He has set for us. He is with us and in everything, we are not alone regardless of the situation that we are in. The words that we speak have power to change our situations to whatever directions our words go. Therefore, be mindful of your speech and speak of things that you want to manifest in your life.
Use the talents that you were given according the will of God. Do not smother your gift no matter the circumstances you face for the talent is for you to use and to bear fruit in. Be eager to deliver with the talents that you have been given to steward.
HINDERANCES TO OUR FULL POTENTIAL
1. Fear.
We should overcome fear as young people. It is natural to be afraid but we should not let that fear rule over us. We should not let fear settle in us.
Psalms 111:10;
This is a good fear. The fear that we are called to have.
2 Timothy 1:7; 1 Samuel 17:12-58;
David did not let the despise of Goliath affect him negatively. He let his past victories that God had given him to back up his faith. Like David, we carry the name of the Lord and His name has power above all. We should know who we are in the Lord and run with it for the rest of our lives. In His name, we are invincible. Use the name of Jesus Christ to the maximum extent to manifest that which the will of God in us corresponds to in our lives.
2. Excuses.
We try to find excuses to stop us from going yonder. If God has commanded us to do something, then He has provided a way for us to do that activity in His name.
Exodus 3;
He knows who we are and He wants his glory to be shown through us. Just as Moses, God can work through our weaknesses. We have no excuse whatsoever that can hinder us from progressing aside from our own will.
Jonah 1-3;
You cannot run away from God as He is omnipresent. He will set circumstances to bring you back to where you were supposed to be in accordance to His assignment. It is best to comply willingly than to run away from your God given destiny as running away makes things worse for you.
