In 2009, Sierra Leone’s maternal mortality rate was 2,100 per 100,000 live births, making it the most dangerous place on earth to have a baby. Today, the rate has significantly dropped to 443.

Life For African Mothers (LFAM) is dedicated to “Making Birth Safer” in . They have transformed maternal health by providing training to midwives, delivering life-saving medication, and advocating for perinatal mental health.
