Here we are encouraging each other to exercise our right to vote tomorrow. 🗳️🇲🇼

Elections can bring strong emotions, and tomorrow's in Malawi is no exception. During this period, it is important to protect your mental health. 🧠 Take breaks from social media, focus on things you can control, and connect with friends or family if you feel overwhelmed. 🫂 Your well-being matters, no matter the outcome. ✨

We can’t wait to see the final images captured by the girls participating in the Moyo Wanga 📸 Project! These photos will deliver powerful messages on important topics such as anti-bullying, climate action, self-acceptance, gender roles, and overcoming envy. Additionally, the girls will have the opportunity to share their projects with their communities, sparking conversations and inspiring action on these crucial issues.

Hello September!

We are still going strong with our Moyo Wanga 📸 Project. Our most recent session was an outing to Bangwe Mountain to capture some moments in nature. It was quite refreshing to go for a hike, enjoy some stunning views, and find inspiration for creativity. Today, we will be reviewing the pictures the girls took and providing personalised feedback.

On August 19, 2025, we had the privilege of delivering a talk on career paths and mental health to 50 young boys at Mfera Day Secondary School in Chikwawa. One of the key elements highlighted was drug and substance abuse, a critical issue that can hinder academic success and overall well-being. The session, hosted by Family Health Services under the Umoyo Wanga project, featured various presenters sharing insights on career growth and inspiring the students to aim high and strive for excellence.

Yesterday, we were at South Lunzu CCAP facilitating a mental health session. One thing was clear: mental health conditions are real, and young people want to take a proactive role to ensure that they experience good health and wellbeing.

A powerful call to action emerged from this session: if you are feeling stressed, don't be afraid to cry!

Thank you, South Lunzu CCAP Youth Ministry for championing mental health within your church community.

Session 1 of the Moyo Wanga 📸 Project ✅

We covered the basics of photography and explored topics that will shape the final projects for the girls. Exciting themes emerged, including self‑love, belonging, relationship management and environmental preservation. It was an engaging session, and we were delighted to see how keen the girls are to learn storytelling through photography.

Today we move on to Session 2, delving deeper into the technical aspects of photography. 💪🏼💪🏼

Yesterday at the Mafunyeta Memorial Show in Area 18, Lilongwe, our team shared practical mental health resources and led a movement-based session to promote wellbeing. We highlighted su***de prevention and the importance of being a brother’s keeper. The theme, "We are in this together", reminds us that collaboration builds healthier communities.

If you or someone you know is struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out and start a conversation.

Sometimes, all it takes is for someone to stand up and say, "I have experienced it, and this is how I coped," to encourage others to share their own experiences. When you create a space free of judgment, you take one step closer to opening a pathway for someone to access mental health support.

Highlights from the MUBAS Men's Conference, spearheaded and hosted by our ambassadors Christabel Ngwalangwa and Marcus Mulwa, in collaboration with the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences- MUBAS Student's Union.

Our Story

iMind is a registered non-profit organisation working towards improving the mental health of youths in Malawi through research, awareness and treatment. Malawi is a nation struggling with mental health, with high prevalence of mental disorders among the youth. Its outreach activities are designed to network with beneficiaries, volunteers, strategic partners and donors. iMind is financed through donations, fundraising activities and the sale of branded merchandise.
