When your eyes or your child eyes are itching, what should you do?

Do not rush to buy drugs putting it your beautiful eyes. Allergies are not well treated by the drugs but identifying the allergan. Imagine if you are allergic to dust. It is best practice to stay away from dust than buy inhalers.

Dor the eye, let us identify what makes our eyes itch. Stay away from that. This could be soap, doom, nets, insecticides, perfumes,.....let's check by elimination method.

It's not easy though!

So

Use cool water to massage your eyes. This will take you through as you are working on your Allergan.

It's better cold compress on closed eyes than medication.
Medication if put continuously may cause

Glaucoma and cataracts.

As a country, we need to understand the prevalence and risk factors of these rare diseases if we are to win. In fact many diseases that are called "rare" are not rare but are under reported due to the methods of diagnosis and peoples knowledge.
At Magalasi Opticals and Eye Clinic with the University of Kwazulu Natal, we are set to come up with real figures of keratoconus for Malawi using modern Technology that can catch early keratoconus that could not be diagnosed with the current available equipment in the country. The Study will be in the 10 districts of Malawi. Let's collaborate and find solutions to this notorious disease. The study is approved by the National Health Science Research Committee.
