About IYI

Invest in Youth Initiative (IYIM) is a non-profit making organization aiming to promote active youth participation in the national agenda specifically to advocating economic empowerment and political inclusion of youths in matters of national importance at decision making level, promoting education and creativity, acceptable cultural values and unity among the youths and the general citizenry body. Entrepreneurship: Our focus is on trainings, promoting partnerships and exposing entrepreneurs to ready markets and possible investors or business partners within the country and abroad.

2. Education: Our focus is on advocating quality and relevant education system as well as promoting creativity and innovation for students at all levels. Our focus is also on providing education facilities that would increase enrolment and performance of students at all levels.

3. Leadership: Our focus is on producing servant leaders who are visionary, wise and action as well as results oriented.

4. Human Rights: Our Focus is on creating an informed citizenry body who know their rights in a democracy by providing them with relevant information and engaging them on a regular basis on matters concerning politics and economy. In addition, our focus is also on minority rights especially for the disabled, albinos and homosexuals.

5. Governance: Our focus is on strengthening democratic systems, processes and institutions which hold government and political leaders accountable in matters concerning policy formulation and deliberation as well as financial transactions.

6. Gender: Our Focus is on narrowing the gap between males and females in relation to access to opportunities and resources as well as participation in public affairs such as politics, economy and agriculture.

7. Culture: Our focus is on making traditional values and customs more relevant to the current socio-economic challenges that the country is facing. In addition, we focus on promoting cultural values and practices that can help in unifying the country to achieve unprecedented economic development.

8. Environment: Our focus is on promoting mitigation and adaptation strategies against the impacts of Climate Changes such as floods, drought and erratic rainfall patterns which cause enormous loss of life and property as well as hunger by working with various religious organizations, youths and women.

9. Health: Our focus is on providing health facilities and conducting awareness campaigns about diseases and related health problems affecting young people such as HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Cancer among others. Our focus is also on research about emerging diseases affecting young people.

10. Arts: Our focus is on identifying, producing and promoting talent of young people in areas such as music, dance, drama, poetry, writing, painting, fashion and modelling. Our focus is also on making the art industry more professional and attractive to young people. Our Core Beliefs
Invest in Youth in Youth Initiative is inspired by a set of beliefs which are as follows:

1. God: We believe that Invest in Youth Initiative will be an instrument to serve and help the people of God living in the land of Malawi so that they can appreciate the goodness of God.

2. Unity: We believe that efforts of various individuals and institutions or organizations can make a meaningful impact in relation to achieving the goals of Invest in Youth Initiative and that is, providing the best platform for youth and national development.

3. Love: We believe that cherishing and caring for one another is the foundation of any development agenda subject to the human mind. All our projects and activities are aimed at promoting love for our country and our fellow citizens.

4. Knowledge: We believe that Knowledge is the best instrument for dealing with various socio-political challenges that Malawi is facing and Invest in Youth Initiative is dedicated to campaigning for and providing best channels of gaining relevant knowledge.

5. Independence: We believe that the best decisions are made with a free mind and environment and Invest in Youth Initiative is dedicated to providing the best avenues and strategies for Malawians as individuals and the country to be able to make autonomous decisions that can change Malawi for the better. To play a leading role in creating better environment and the best platform for youth development in terms of providing economic and social services in areas of entrepreneurship, education and health as well as cultural services with the aim of building a self-reliant generation as well as instilling the acceptable values of our society in the future generation of citizens and leaders. Invest In Youth Initiative has a board of Trustees whose members include professor Happy Kayuni (Department of Public Administration and Political Studies, Chancellor College), Mr. Timothy Chirwa (Department of Legal Studies, Chancellor College) and Mr. Vuwa Phiri (Chief Librarian, Chancellor College) and Mr. Henry Kachaje(Executive director at Business Consult Africa and Economic Association of Malawi).The Organization also has management team comprised of the Executive Director, The Financial Director, Projects Coordinator, Public Relations officer, Administrator, Secretary and Legal advisor
