Our project coordinator Mr Alex phiri was greatly honored to be part of the meeting organized by national youth council in conjunction with MACRA. The meeting was centered under the them "Bridging digital divide" the meeting was to come up with solution to the current digital revolution problems. Among others, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority has promised to construct 5 computer labs in every constituency in Malawi, introduce computer as a subject in primary and secondary syllabus, reduce the prices of data for everyone to have access to the internet.

We're thrilled to share that the Ministry of Youth, through the office of the Nkhatabay District Youth Office, engaged our program coordinator Mr Alex Phiri to coordinate the reflection meeting on sexual reproductive health and rights, mental health, and climate change that was conducted in the Nkhatabay District Youth Office. The engagement aims to dig out issues young people face in the district pertaining to SRHR, mental health, and climate change. The initiative targets T/A-based youth leaders, CBDAs, peer educators, and mentors.

"Never stop learning; be determined and always curious to learn more about your SRHR; let us all be changemakers in our respective communities; and never be shy about educating our fellow youths." Our programs manager, Ms Cynthia Grace Kumbanga shared this during her presentation on linkages between SRHR policies and other development frameworks (i.e., the SDGs and Malawi Vision 2023) in the project. The session unveiled the linkage, roles, and significance of SRHR policies in achieving sustainable development.

Our programs coordinator Mr Alex Phiri has been greatly honored to be part of the 4-days comprehensive sexuality education being conducted by the Nkhatabay district youth office under the support of UNFPA Malawi. The training is targeting TA-based youth leaders in Nkhatabay with the purpose of reducing cases of teenage pregnancies and early marriages, which are currently very high in the district. Our programs manager Ms Cynthia Grace Kumbanga was privileged to be one of the key facilitators in one of the sessions in the project aimed at ending HIV/AIDS by creating safer spaces among the youths. The project is targeting Lilongwe institutions like TTCs, DMI, and Pentecostal Life University.

Active Initiatives for Development Programs Coordinator Mr. Alex Phiri was greatly honored to be part of National Youth Council of Malawi Consultations towards the development of the 2024-2029 strategic plan on 15th May 2024 at the pastoral center in Nkhatabay. The consultations were aimed at unfolding key challenges young people face in Nkhatabay and viewing focus areas of the upcoming strategic plan.

AID was honored to be part of the launch of SADC PF SRHR, HIV and AIDs governance project in Lilongwe parliament building. The signing in of the project by SADC PF Secretary General Ms Boemo Sekgoma alongside honourable Madalitso Kazombo MP, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, aims to support women on positions of responsibility and further champion women's rights for greater inclusivity.
