At Alinane Academy, we have resumed classes for our nursery section after the Easter holiday 🌼
Many people often wonder why nursery learners don’t take long breaks like older students. The reason is simple: in early childhood, consistency is key.
Young children are still developing memory, so long breaks can make them forget routines, basic concepts, and social habits. They thrive on structure, and daily routines help them feel secure and confident. Learning at this stage happens through repetition, and shorter breaks help maintain that continuity.
Regular attendance also supports their social development—helping them learn how to interact, share, and communicate with others. Long breaks can make it harder for them to readjust emotionally when they return to school.
Most importantly, this is a critical stage for brain development. Continuous, play-based engagement helps build strong foundations for future learning. Since nursery learning is fun and activity-based, children don’t experience the kind of acaidemic pressure that requires long breaks.
📌 In summary: Nursery children benefit more from short breaks because they need routine, consistency, and continuous engagement to support their memory, social skills, and overall development.
At Alinane Academy, we prioritize giving our young learners the best start through structured, nurturing, and consistent learning experiences đź’™
