Together with the well-known Blantyre Adventist Hospital (BAH) in Blantyre city, and Malamulo Mission Hospital, in the lovely plains of Thyolo district known for its vast plush green tea estates; the three are now the biggest secondary/tertiary facilities supported by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It has come a long way since it started as a dental clinic in the early 1980s. Today you will fin

d a a fully-fledged twelve-bed general hospital and a recently built hospital wing with two operating theatres, a labour and delivery suite, and lovely private rooms. Additionally, the facility has an extremely well-equipped vision center, with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment as well as stylish frames and lenses. Adjacent to the vision center is a dental clinic with two dentists, able to perform a range of services, from digital X-rays to cleanings, root canals, crowns and braces, mouthguards, and retainers. At the core of service delivery is the main outpatient department, which is open twenty-four hours, seven days a week! Always backed by a qualified physician and excellent supporting services 24/7, from the Radiology department (with digital X-ray and ultrasound), Laboratory department (offers blood gas analysis, hormone assays, culture & sensitivity), and Pharmacy department. For further observation or admission, there are short stay and general wards, which are complimented by private rooms. The operating theatres are dedicated for general surgery, including laparoscopy (minimally invasive surgery) and endoscopy (upper and lower scopes), and ophthalmology (eye). Nutrition and lifestyle counseling is available by appointment, provided by a registered dietitian and certified lifestyle medicine professional (American College of Lifestyle Medicine). Routine visiting specialists include orthopedics and obstetrics and gynecology. All of these services are provided within the framework of our mission and vision as a faith-based institution. MISSION

On 18 March, 2023, the Dental department was closed for renovations and face lifting. On 2 July, 2024, The Deputy Minister of Health, Honorable Halima Alima Daudi presided over the Grand Reopening of the department.

Here’s an excerpt from the ceremony.

On a lighter note: all guests available on that day were given coupons for a free teeth cleaning service. A total of 135 coupons were given out.

For the past 2 months, we embarked on renovating our dental clinic and installing new equipment. By God’s grace, we have finished the works and we are now operating in our newly renovated office. Here’s a sneak peak of the clinic.
