An adolescent girl at the Tikondane DREAMS club in Phalombe engages with an informative poster on HIV self-testing, distributed by the USAID's funded Malawi EMPOWER project. Witness the transformative power of accessibility as the USAID's funded EMPOWER Project brings integrated sexual reproductive health and HIV services to DREAMS clubs in communities. “This innovative arrangement has become a lifeline for us, providing convenience and a safe space away from health facilities where we may encounter our parents or their acquaintances who could inadvertently breach our privacy. This intervention captures the essence of youth-friendly care, empowering us to take control of our sexual health journey in a supportive and welcoming environment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to EMPOWER Project for this empowering initiative.” Says Monica Chilemba of Titukulane DREAMS Club in Phalombe.

Bringing laughter and hope to the darkest times: In a remarkable moment of resilience and strength, Ethel Kasiya found joy amidst adversity as she accessed HIV testing services at Shukran Orphanage. Following the destruction caused by Cyclone Freddy, this picture captures the collaborative efforts of the USAID-funded project, EMPOWER, the Ministry of Health, and partners of the DREAMS initiative. Together, they responded to the pressing need for HIV services and essential health commodities, such as condoms and family planning, in the camps where victims of Cyclone Freddy found shelter. This heartwarming image symbolizes the power of healthcare to bring laughter and hope, even during the most challenging circumstances.
