// Where we direct our attention directly affects the life we live and the reality we perceive.

Focus and concentration are a key component of our yoga practice. In essence it's what we are working towards.

This complete unwavering focus and absorption into oneness.

But this not just applies to yoga. It applies across our lives and what we do.

How can we begin to further implement the focus practices of yoga to live a life that is more fulfilling and fuelled towards our nature?

Like anything it's a practice. We need to learn how to catch ourselves as the mind wanders.

When we can actively begin to shift out awareness and focus back to what's important to us we can really begin to feel fulfilled in what we are doing.

We become engulfed and the sense of everything else fades out. Just as when we are on the mat, the rest of the world disappears.

No work, no s**t, no chaos, just you, the movement, and your breath.

Complete dynamic stillness and oneness where nothing else matters.
The more we can begin to find it in our yoga practice the more we can feed it in our day to day life helping us to maintain that connection to ourselves and feed our energy and time into what is important to us.

Our perception and focus directly alters and determines our reality. So therefore shouldn't we invest our focus and energy into what we value and hold important?

So, let me ask you this: how are you spending your time?

Are you investing your time into what's important, and if not what will you change today to begin to do so?

// It’s a beautiful experience to just let go and see what comes out. To be free in our creation and just let go. To let our breath and body take the lead in directing our movement. To just be in freedom of play.

// We've all experienced the sensation when you're in a class and everyone is moving, breathing, and sweating together as one. It's even more surreal now being online because it's a worldwide sensation. It's pure magic!

It's almost a tingly electric feeling when you're there all together energised and moving.
It's like a dance or a piece of music being orchestrated. A single entity of movement and breath.

The human connection that we directly experience in yoga allows us to become a part of something bigger.

To be part of a community of like minded individuals that offers support networks, that strives to inquire into who they are, and elevate each other.

The human connection is playful. It's wholesome. It's supportive. It's loving and caring. It's energising. It's freeing.

It's something I love about practicing with friends, you're all the edging each other one, supporting each other and just playing.

It's like being a kid again and coming back to that basic nature of play and exploration without worrying about the outcome.

It also provides us with an opportunity to connect with others and develop new friendships. To learn, be inspired, and maybe even inspire others!

It's such a key element to what this journey is about. To experience our own true nature and in turn experience others.

This is exactly why I am taking my online yoga platform to the next level. This is an exclusive educational and interactive space for my online monthly membership students. And for a limited time it's £45 PCM. To learn more about what I am offering head to my bio or drop me a DM and I will fill you in on all the details.

// The idea of not being good enough is something we have all directly experienced at some point in our lives. Whether that was in school around education, trying out for a sports team, even falling in love with someone.
It's a painful thing to experience and takes a lot of work to overcome.
But I will let you in on a little secret...

You hold the power to overcome it because you are good enough.

No-one holds the power to say so otherwise.

But what is it about this train of thought that draws us in? Why do we believe that we may not be good enough for something?

Building self-love and self-confidence is a practice within itself and they are a set of principles that tie directly into our yoga practice.

It's not easy. It's confronting and a lot of work. For when we decide to take those steps forward we are going about against our ego and all the programs of negative self-believe that it was written.

You will rage, cry, scream, and just feel like it's maybe all too much.

And you know what? thats OK!

But I promise you, if you take those steps into doing the work on yourself, questioning and challenging your thought patterns, the other side is a life full of love, fulfilment and joy.

It's a ride worth jumping on and a gamble worth taking.

Because I was exactly like this and I still consistently do the work to challenge my ways. But since I began that path and began to knock down those barriers that we're holding me back, the impact I have experienced has been surreal.

And I am sure you will experience the same.

So I invite you to say f**k all those beliefs and all those people that say you aren't good enough. I invite you to inquire deep into who you are.
And I invite you to begin to take the first steps forward to living a more liberated and awesome life in the most full and loving version of yourself you can possibly be.

Step into who you truly are and share it with this world.

// As I’ve spoken about in previous posts, for the past weeks, maybe even months, I have been feeling uninspired and a little lost in the connection of my own personal practice. I haven’t been able to connect into my breath or self.
-
Feeing sluggish and resistant yesterday I roll my mat out and just begin to move and I end up having one of the most simple yet beautiful practices in a long time.
-
I was taken back to the roots of this practice, the linking of breath to the movement and that deep connection into ones self, feeling blissfully absorbed into ones being. It wasn’t about what I could do or necessarily pushing myself but more feeling into where is going to serve me.
-
It then turned out to be a practice that just flowed and was filled with lightness and release. I found my breath again.
-
Often we can want something from our practice, we expect and try to manipulate it to be a certain way. But we then are fighting ourselves and our breath. Rather it’s learning to let go into it and just let the practice give you exactly what you need. Maybe that’s a slow paced and deep stretch flow, maybe it’s a super energetic arm balance fuelled flow.
-
Whatever it is, it’s all the same. It’s not what you necessarily do aesthetically with your body, but the intention and breath behind the movement. To be in that space space of blissful surrender.

// I was listening to a podcast the other day of school of greatness with . I haven’t listened to much of either of their stuff but what I have has always been pure gold. Anyway, there was something that was said that has stuck with me over the past few days:

“If you want to change your personal reality, you have to change your personality.”

This hit me so hard. So effective yet so simple. This resonates with all I’ve been exploring through my own practice, working to change the patterning of my thoughts, and it feeds into my last post about gratitude.

Change won’t happen unless we make it happen. There is no magic pill that Morpheus will give you. We hold the power to re-wire the patterning of our mind to condition ourselves to live in the way that we want to live. It’s so awesome and amazing!

It’s not an easy, especially when you may be trying to change patterns of 15/20/30 years. But once you have it, it’s there and it’s like a door unlocks. You begin to experience life in a way that you never thought. And this is pure magic ❤️.

// // How do you experience gratitude? Is it something you practice? Do you have to make a conscious effort to acknowledge it or do you spend your days in it?
-
Gratitude is something I have begun to heavily implement into my daily practice again. And it’s surreal the differences it makes in the way one can approach the day. Each night I write down between 3-5 things that I am grateful for that day and each morning one of the first things I do is take a moment to just appreciate the joy that it is to breath, move, and be alive. To be where I am. And this carries with me through the day, bringing such appreciation for all the little things and people I encounter
-
It truly is an awesome experience to be alive and breathing. To experience the self in all its loving wonder. In ones true nature. To have a chance to explore and see this world. To play.
-
Take a moment, sit, breath and just write down the things that you can be thankful for, however small or big. What is it that you can be thankful for today?

// The past year has been a hell of a rollercoaster for everyone. On my personal journey through it there has been so many massive highs met with some massive lows. I hit a point in mental states that I have not experienced for a long time. But through it all I count myself very lucky for being able to do what I do and share it with people around the world. But non the less, and even more so recently, I have experienced my share of lows. I believe these things are important to share for what we perceive often of others lives through social media is not the reality of a situation. You just see the perfect picture scenario.
-
When we fall into states of flatness, low energy, and negative thoughts they are very tricky to navigate and even more so to pull ourselves out of them. I am lucky to have a coach that helps me navigate it and a strong supportive woman by my side. But this is a practice in itself and something I have been exploring for a long time and continue to do so. It’s funny, as soon as you think you have overcome a hump you get faced with another one. But these moments offer a unique opportunity to look into who I am, my history, my faults, my strengths, what makes me who I am and human.
-
Beginning to explore one’s own discomfort isn’t easy, asking for help isn’t easy, the road that it leads to isn’t easy. This past year has not been easy for anyone’s mind sake. And we can’t necessarily change what’s happening externally. But we can change how we react to it and navigate it. In a time where pretty much all our interaction is through a computer screen, it’s even more important to speak and share about what’s happening internally. To lift each other up, to support, and to help each other face whatever is there and through it all become a more full, awesome version of oneself.
-
So next time s**t hits the fan, take that time out to just be, talk to a friend or family, scream into a pillow, sit in meditation, do an excessively sweaty workout. Whatever it is that will help you come into contact with it, not change it, but be with it. And in turn, experience yourself in the glory that you are.

// Building the Fundamentals to Handstand - Online Workshop
-
Ah handstand. That mythical pose. So mesmerising. So dreamy. And it’s what yoga is about right? Like that’s essentially, no?
-
Nah. Handstand doesn’t make you any better at yoga than the next thing. But it is a TON of fun. After tasting that sweet taste of effortlessly balancing on your hands, you’re hooked.
-
On the 20th of March I will be hosting a two hour online workshop on building the fundamental tools and understanding to begin to unlock this pose. Of course we will playing a lot in handstand but we will also break down the anatomy involved so you can understand what is happening beneath the skin. I will also give you all the little training tricks and drills I have learnt over the past couple of years.
-
This workshop is open level so don’t worry if you don’t feel that confident yet! I’ve been there and I got you! Space is limited to 20 people so I can give everyone the right attention.
-
Head to my bio to learn more and hope to see you on the mat!

// I’ve been feeling a lack of inspiration to move lately. There isn’t the usual fire or drive to get up and spend 2 hours or however long practicing and moving. But what I find generally arises in moments like this is a space to explore the more subtle layers of ones inner reality. If we listen to the body and our inner nature, it will guide us to what we need. Sometimes that’s a really strong and sweaty practice and other times it’s maybe a long walk or sitting and being with ones thoughts. Finding space just to connect to yourself. It doesn’t matter the medium you use. We often place such a heavy emphasis on the physical aspect. It’s always interesting when you get asked or ask someone “have you practiced today?” I believe you practice from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. The whole day is a practice of observing your actions, patterns, breath, and thoughts. The physical can just be a medium to start the conversation with yourself.

// As humans we like to think that we know all and what we know is all there is to know. The act of not knowing can often scare us or intimidate us. But choosing a path of self inquiry requires the act of not knowing. We must be open to the endless possibilities of what could be. For we cannot inquire into an experience or perception believing that we know that there is all to know about it. For then why do we inquire? The inquiry in turn closes on us. We must begin with not knowing and not understanding. To be open to our own ignorance. To be open for things to change, our views to be challenged and in turn allowing ourselves to be present to what we are experiencing.

// When we develop love for truth, in all that is, we will find freedom. But we cannot seek the truth. If we actively look to seek the truth we tend to be avoiding pain. Rather we must learn to fall in love with the truth. To apply the love and let the love for the truth grow. For the truth to be as deep and as complete as possible, loving the truth for its own sake. This is the attitude of the heart.
