Timberline Lodge rests on the side of Mt. Hood the highest mountain in Oregon. The lodge was dedicated in 1937 by F. D. Roosevelt who declared it, “a monument to the skill & faithful performance of the workers on the roles of the Works Progress Administration.” The Lodge is the only 20th century building of its size constructed & furnished entirely by hand with original craft work in wood, wrought iron, textiles, watercolor, oil paint, mosaic, & stained glass. Bob LOVES wood & iron and he kept saying, “It’s like we’re in a castle!” The Timberline Lodge is an iconic gem of the Pacific Northwest.
