✨🌼 Day of the Dead vs. Halloween 🎃💀 🌼✨
At first glance, these traditions look similar — skeletons, costumes, and candles. But their roots and meanings are worlds apart.
🇲🇽 Día de los Mu***os (Nov 1–2) is a sacred Mexican tradition, blending Indigenous and Catholic beliefs. Families build colorful ofrendas with marigolds, candles, and favorite foods to welcome back the souls of loved ones. It’s not about fear — it’s about love, remembrance, and the beauty of life’s cycle.
🎃 Halloween (Oct 31) traces back to the Celtic festival of Samhain and has grown into a modern celebration of imagination. It’s a night of costumes, jack-o’-lanterns, candy, and playful fright — a carnival of fantasy, disguise, and eerie fun.
💫 Both reflect our relationship with life and death — one through reverence, the other through play.
