Anti-microbial resistance (AMR) is an emerging global issue. It poses a huge threat to human and animals
Do you that antibiotics also being used by veterinarians to treat animal to help them lives longer and healthy life.
However, these antibiotics , over time,will lose their efficacy to previous susceptible organisms and become resistant . This is what we called as AMR.
Antimicrobial resistance has led to the emergence of so-called “superbugs”, that are challenging health care workers, veterinarians, and other animal health providers due to a reduction of effective therapeutic options to prevent, control, and treat infectious diseases.
Misuse and overuse of antibiotics could cause more harm than good.
Thus, veterinarians , farmers or community involved in animal producers should be responsible with antibiotics usage in animals. We should only use antibiotics when it is truly indicated . By doing so, it will help reducing antibiotics in animals/plants so we will able to achieve better global health.
