Dr. Ng Guan F**k completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) from University of Malaya in 2003. He had worked as an Eye Medical Officer in several eye departments (Sungai Petani, Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Penang General Hospital). He was conferred the Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) by Universiti Sains Malaysia and was an Ophthalmologist in Penang and Sultanah Bahiyah General Hospital. He was also the first Head of Department and Consultant Ophthalmologist in Hospital Kulim. During his career as an Ophthalmologist, he was awarded Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang, APAO/Korean Ophthalmological Society Travel Grant, Universiti Sains Malaysia Gold Medal Award for the Best Master Medicine Student and the Fellow of Alumni of Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is also involves in charity eye screening and surgery in Malaysia and overseas. Dr. Lim Chuan Chun is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Pusat Pakar Mata Perdana, a position he has held since 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya in 2011 and subsequently obtained the Master of Ophthalmology from the same institution in 2020. He completed his housemanship at Hospital Kulim and later served as a Medical Officer in the Ophthalmology Department at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar. Dr. Lim underwent structured postgraduate ophthalmology training under the University of Malaya, with accredited clinical rotations at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Selayang, and Hospital Taiping. He served as an Ophthalmologist at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah from 2021 to 2023. In recognition of his clinical service and professional commitment, he was conferred the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang in 2015. He is a College Member of the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. We specialise in:

Chalazion vs Stye — What’s the Difference?

Do you notice a small lump or swelling on your eyelid? Many people confuse a chalazion with a stye, but they’re actually different conditions!

🔹 Stye (Hordeolum) – A red, painful lump near the edge of your eyelid caused by an infected oil gland. It often looks like a pimple and may be tender to touch.

🔹 Chalazion – A painless bump that forms when an oil gland is blocked. It may start as a small swelling and grow slowly over time.

Most cases improve with warm compresses, but sometimes a chalazion may persist and need a minor procedure (incision and curettage) to remove it safely.

If you have a lump on your eyelid that doesn’t go away or keeps coming back, get it checked by an eye specialist early.
