| Highlights from the SMIIC Delegation Visit

In September 2025, we had the privilege of hosting delegates from The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) at our Klang facility — an inspiring exchange held alongside the 14th SMIIC Technical Committee Week, organised by the Department of Standards Malaysia under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia.

The visit offered a closer look at how our “Halal Built-In, Not Tested For” philosophy drives every aspect of production within our GMP-certified facility, powered by digital innovations like blockchain, IoT, and AI for greater transparency and assurance.

Beyond the walk-through, it was a meeting of minds and missions — a glimpse into how innovation, compliance, and shared purpose continue to reaffirm Malaysia’s leadership in advancing global halal pharmaceutical standards through OIC Standard SMIIC 50-1, with Duopharma Biotech playing a pivotal role in driving that progress.

For us, halal pharmaceuticals go beyond compliance—it is about access, trust, and sustainability. Following our recent halal certification milestone for a biosimilar erythropoietin in June 2025, we continue exploring ways to extend this assurance to our Recombinant Human Insulin (RHI) portfolio, reinforcing medicine security and patient access worldwide.

A New Chapter for DB (Philippines), Inc.

We’re growing with purpose! Our Philippines regional office has officially opened its new home in San Juan, Manila — a vibrant space designed to inspire collaboration, innovation, and growth as we continue our journey towards smarter solutions for a healthier life.

The milestone was celebrated on 4 October 2025, joined by our dedicated DBPhils team alongside our BOD member and Senior Leadership from Malaysia.

How do we walk the talk on integrity? By learning, sharing, and putting it into practice together.

Our Group Risk Management & Integrity (GRMI) team held an interactive Case Study Session under the Organisational Integrity and Corruption Plan (OIACP) 2025 initiative, joined by 24 participants, including Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Committee members and Integrity Champions.

With guidance from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the session featured:

⚖️ Insights on corporate liability and corruption offences under Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009.

💡A hands-on case study exploring real corruption scenarios.

The biggest takeaway? Integrity isn’t a one-day event — it’s the daily choices we make, decision by decision 🤝✅
