This hit me hard.. I’ve used up 11 of them already..🥹🥹
They just grow up so fast!

12/04/2026

Yesterday I took a 4-hour train,
checked into a budget hotel,

Today I woke up at 6am
and walked around the streets of Bangsar South.

The streets weren’t busy yet.
The sun was just rising.

No noise. No rush. Just thoughts.

Sometimes in life,
we need to go the extra mile
to chase what truly matters to us.

To stay so focused on becoming better,
that we don’t even have time
to compare with other
or even criticise others.

Because the truth is
everyone is on their own timeline.

Some are ahead.
Some are behind.
But no one is late.

You are not too early.
You are not too late.

You are exactly where you need to be.
Just keep going.

This is what happens to your eyes in the dark!🌙👁️

I don’t even know who they are…
but this comment made me tear up.

Two days ago,
I received a comment from a stranger.
A simple “thank you”
from a patient’s family
someone I treated 8 years ago.

I may not remember every case.
I may not remember every face.
But they remembered what I did for their dad.

And it made me pause.

In this line of work,
there are long hours, tired days,
and moments where you quietly wonder
if everything you’re doing really matters.

But sometimes…
something small finds its way back to you,
years later.

And reminds me..
It does!

Because what we do as doctors
doesn’t stay in the clinic or hospital.
It stays with people.
In ways we may never fully see.

Because patients may forget the details…
but they will always remember how you made them feel.

We can’t help everyone,
but we can make a difference to one.

To those in healthcare:
don’t lose hope,
even when the system feels heavy.

Keep going.
One day, it will make sense.

5 hard truths about a doctor’s wife:
(From A Doctor’s POV)

1. You have to share him with everyone else.

Patients, wards, emergencies, calls, consults… someone will always need him, sometimes more urgently than you do. For example like a kid who had an open eye injury that needs to be sutured urgently. And you learn, quietly, to come second.

2. Plans are never really plans

Birthdays, dinners, holidays… One call can change everything. You stop expecting certainty, and start living with “maybe.” Need to wait for the Oncall schedule every month before making plans.

3. You carry the life he can’t

While he’s building a career, you’re holding the home, the kids, the responsibilities. When he is posted far away, you hold the fort. Not because it’s easy but because someone has to.

4. You learn to love in silence

Some days, he comes home with nothing left. No energy to talk. No space to connect. And you understand… without asking for more.

5. Your sacrifices are invisible

People see the doctor. They respect the title. They ask you to ask your husband medical questions. But they don’t see the person who made that journey possible.

“Being a doctor’s wife isn’t just love — it’s all the unseen sacrifices wrap with love.”

Most people think cataracts only affect vision.
But it may affect the brain too.

When vision becomes blurry,
the brain receives less visual input.
Over time, this may lead to reduced brain stimulation.

At the same time,
the brain has to work harder just to see,
increasing mental strain.

And when people can’t see well,
they tend to go out less, move less,
and become more socially withdrawn.

All these are known risk factors for dementia.

So cataract surgery isn’t just about seeing better.
It may help protect the mind too.”

🔑 Key takeaway:

Cataract surgery is not just about clearer vision.
It may also help maintain brain health.

⚠️ Important reminder:

This does NOT mean cataracts directly cause dementia.
But untreated vision loss may increase the risk over time.

I was at the car wash and it struck me on the spot..

Some days, you won’t feel like yourself.
Your energy is low. Your mind feels heavy.
And even the simplest things take effort.

But you still show up.
You still try.
You still keep moving.

That matters more than you think.

Not every day is meant to be productive.
Some days are just about getting through.

And that’s okay.

Because purpose doesn’t disappear.
It just gets quiet for a while.

So if you’re in that phase,
be patient with yourself.
You’re not lost. You’re just on your way back.
