Last day of my Thailand attachment — and what a finale!

Woke up at 2am (yes, TWO) to grab a taxi to KDMS Hospital.

Why? To assist Prof. Bancha in a reverse shoulder arthroplasty at 4am.
Yes, surgery before sunrise. Some people do yoga at dawn… we do shoulders.

Wrapped up the case, dashed to the airport and made it onto my flight back at 12pm to Senai.

Running on zero sleep but 100% satisfaction. What a way to end the day.

Back to being a student again — no stress, just focused on learning under Professor Dr Bancha.

Started the day bright and early at 7 AM with:
– Ward rounds
– Teaching medical students
– Outpatient clinics
– And an OT list full of cases I was eager to see:
1. ACL avulsion fracture — knee arthroscopy and pull-through suture in a young patient
2. Massive rotator cuff tear — shoulder arthroscopy, subacromial decompression, and superior capsule reconstruction with allograft in a middle age man
3. Revision PCL reconstruction using peroneus tendon graft - something new to me.
4. Reverse shoulder arthroplasty for an 84-year-old patient with a massive rotator cuff tear - when age is just a number

Some memories are still vivid, like it was just yesterday — even though my last visit was over a year ago.
Grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and growing under great mentorship.

I’m truly grateful and excited to share that I’ve been accepted and away to continue my long-overdue attachment in Orthopaedics at Thammasat University Hospital, Thailand 🇹🇭. Yes, again. This time from June 16–26, 2025, I’ll be away again for a short training stint to continue upgrading my skills and knowledge so I can serve my patients even better.

Thank you to everyone—my team, patients, family, and friends—for your constant support. Looking forward to bringing back fresh insights and experience!

Now I’m lying in bed with a fever, wondering who signed me up for this.
Aging hits harder when passion meets exhaustion.
Still wouldn’t trade this for anything.

Time for a break..

Will wake up stronger for busy clinic tomorrow.
