Stories of a Wandergirl

Stories of a Wandergirl A female solo backpacker from the Philippines who is obsessed in going places and telling stories about it. Hi!

Welcome to this page. :)

Just like you, I am a very passionate traveller who tries to see and experience everything that the place has to offer. My "wandergirl" calling started during my younger years (grade school) when I would travel by bus for 10 hours to enjoy a different scenery every summer. I got the chance to explore further and farther years later, flying whether I have friends/family to come with, or I go solo. I am indeed very grateful for all the opportunities presented to me. I've always wanted to write my stories and experiences to remind myself of how amazing the past is, and to make me more excited to my future travels. It's only a few months back that I had the time to do it because of the need for me to take a break from work and travels until I fully recover from a recent surgery. Come reminisce with me as I write stories about my past wanders and revisit the beautiful scenery along with it. :)

Cheers!

Here's a quick round-up of our recent visit to Malapascua. Some of my friends have been asking me "how to go there," "how much did we spend," and "how was it."

And so I thought, why not give them the details to make their trip to Malapascua happen?

Sharing is caring. :) Here it is.

This is how it looks when I try to see the world differently. For the longest time, I've enjoyed seeing the world on my own. But it doesn't hurt to have someone to see it with. Actually, I find it a bit more interesting.
is a really awesome photographer. Thanks for this captured moment. 💖

Perhaps it's during this time of the day (sunset) that makes the sky "vulnerable to show its true emotions". If that was the case, then it's pretty obvious that indeed, the sky up above is happily celebrating. It's Christmas, after all. 🙂
Merry Christmas, everyone! ⭐️🙏🏼♥️

This video was taken on the 4th of July this year, somewhere at the top of the tallest structure in Coba Mayan Ruins at Tulum, Mexico.
I thought I was gonna skip a visit here after seeing the other archeological sites but I am glad that I went there--much because of the great company I was with. They are somewhere in the video (below 😊) and thankfully, they invited me to tag along. It seems like only yesterday. I know one day I will see them again somewhere where there is good food--for sure! Oh, hello and ❤️
I wish I have the capacity to put all my content from the past few years together so that I could come up with a more epic personal documentary. But as much as I love "curating" my feed, it is super time consuming and the truth is, life happens and I prefer spending that time making moments up front. 😁

The time has come for me to embrace what I have been feeling for the past few months: "to take a vacation from the long-term vacation."

Today, I went for my first day of work.

Honestly, I am not sure if I am really, truly ready for this type of commitment after being used to following my whim of desires in the past 2 years. But somehow, it felt right to just go, jump, and trust that everything is meant to be. Maktoob 💫

I wrote this post two days ago because everything just felt so surreal. It still is, actually.

Cheers to a new chapter to all of us. 💫

There’s a wave of nostalgia that is running through my body. On Friday, in exactly 32 hours and 36 minutes from now, I am officially taking an indefinite vacation from my long-term vacation. In layman’s term, I am going back to the corporate world of employment. The past two years has been surreal.…

The Perhentian Islands is one of Malaysia’s treasures located at the Northeastern part of the peninsula. For the rest of the world, it is a well-kept secret that is barely known. But for locals and travelers alike, this place is hard to miss.

"IT WASN’T UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING WHEN EVERYTHING MADE SENSE.

The view.

The vibe.

The lifestyle.

THE PERHENTIAN IS A DEFINITION OF A “BACKPACKING” HOLIDAY."

When it comes to amazing natural landscape, I'd give it to the Isle of the Skye in Scotland.

It's a SURREAL place to travel to. If hearing legends, seeing castles, and being at breathtaking wonders are not epic enough, then I don't know what is.

And the snow... "It was mid-fall and yet, the first day of snow arrived! The feeling of surprised happiness after dreading, fearing it for a long time was for no reason at all."

The whole place with the first snow fall was always indescribable! :D

I went here in the Autumn of 2015 and it's one of the few places that I really want to go back to again.

Photos don't do justice, so if you're curious, read the full blog below :)

Reminiscin' about the "holiday within the long-term holiday"--the Perhentian Island. The island called... This is where I turned from being a beach bum to becoming a diver.
