Tung Shin Hospital 同善医院 A Non-profit Hospital provides holistic healthcare through Western & Traditional Chinese Medicines

Tung Shin Hospital (formerly known as Pooi Shin Tong) is a 247-bedded charitable community hospital founded in 1881 by Kapitan Yap Kwan Seng. It turned into a Not For Profit Organization in 1894 and it is currently governed by a group of passionate philanthropists, a dedicated team of medical specialists and healthcare professionals. Tung Shin Hospital started as a clinic with 2 Traditional Chinese Medicine consultants that provided medical treatment and funeral expenses to the poor and needy. However, to cater to the needs of the community, Tung Shin Hospital started to roll out its Western Medical Care in 1985. This has set Tung Shin Hospital apart from other hospitals being one of the hospitals that provides comprehensive Western and Traditional Chinese Medical Care for patients.

𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.✨

Tung Shin Hospital, together with eco-shop Malaysia, held the Mock Cheque Handover Ceremony and New Medical Building Lighting Ceremony on 15/10/2025, marking a meaningful milestone in our shared journey to advance community healthcare.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Eco-Shop and the Malaysian Social Entrepreneurs Foundation（MSEF）马来西亚社会企业家基金 for their remarkable generosity — a combined RM160 million in support of Tung Shin Hospital’s redevelopment plan.

The RM150 million contribution from -Shop reflects the collective kindness of 3,305 employees, united by compassion and a shared belief in giving back. The donation will be fulfilled over three years, symbolising a sustained commitment to improving community healthcare.

Our sincere gratitude to Dato’ Sri Lee Kar Whatt, Founder and Managing Director of Eco-Shop, for his inspiring leadership in nurturing a culture of giving and social responsibility — turning collective kindness into lasting impact.

We also wish to thank Dato’ Chan Wah Kiang, President of the Malaysia Social Entrepreneur Foundation (MSEF), who represented the Foundation in contributing RM10 million, and for his continued dedication to advancing meaningful social causes that uplift communities.

The event also featured a heartfelt sharing by beneficiaries of the Tung Shin Patient Welfare Fund, a touching reminder that every act of kindness lights up another life with hope.

As the lights illuminated our New Medical Building model, they symbolised more than progress — they represented compassion, unity, and the enduring spirit of care that transcends generations.

衷心感谢 -Shop 与马来西亚社会企业家基金会 () 的慷慨支持——合共捐赠 一亿六千万令吉，助力同善医院重建计划。

其中，-Shop 的 一亿五千万令吉捐款，凝聚了 3,305 名员工的爱心与善意，展现了企业上下同心、回馈社会的精神。这笔善款将在三年内陆续完成捐赠，象征着持续不断的关怀与承诺。

感谢宜购创办人兼董事经理拿督斯里李家发的远见与领导，让企业文化中充满温情与善意，使这份爱心得以凝聚。
