Invisible childhood trauma occurs when parents are unable to understand and respond effectively to their child’s emotional needs. While parents may still provide the necessities and care for their child, they may be unaware of noticing or acting on their child’s emotional needs, which leads to emotional neglect. When a child feels that his/her feelings are not important, it can damage his/her self-esteem and mental health, which can affect them in the long run up to adulthood 😧

Emotional neglect is generally silent (suppressing emotions) in the beginning, but over time the effects will start to show up in symptoms such as:-
🔸Depression
🔸Anxiety
🔸Aggression
🔸Low self-esteem
🔸Avoid emotional closeness
🔸Appear uncaring and cold
🔸Prefers being alone
🔸Lacking motivation
🔸Difficulty trusting others

Here are a few examples of invisible childhood trauma that nobody talks about 🤔

It is important to seek professional help from a mental health professional to better understand the effects of invisible childhood trauma, and learn to identify, accept and express your emotions in a healthy way 🧠🌷

Growing up as an invisible child is definitely not easy 🫥

At a young age, a child may have to help his/her parents to do house chores to avoid being scolded, or even walking on eggshells to ensure parents emotional needs are being taken care of. The child has to be responsible and independent whilst having to endure difficulties and challenges to the expense of neglecting his/her emotions, which leads to developing emotional neglect as an adult individual 😔

Due to the lack of parental care and attention that the child is yearning to have, nor has any good memories of his/her childhood time, it can cause the child to grow up and end up becoming tough and difficult individual with emotional issues in his/her adult relationships ❤️‍🩹

Here are the definition of the invisible child, how is an invisible child being developed, how does an invisible child cope, and how does an invisible child become visible in adulthood 🧠🌷

Stress is defined as feelings of emotional or physical tension that can come from any thoughts or events that make you feel nervous, angry, and frustrated. Experiencing stress is part of your body's reaction to a challenge or demand 😩

For example, stress can be experienced and perceived in a positive manner, such as when it helps you to avoid danger or meet a deadline. But when stress lasts for a long time, it may harm your health and it will be seen and felt in a negative state.

Stress is how we respond to people and situations when we feel under pressure or threatened. It usually occurs when we are in a situation that we do not feel we can handle or control 🙁

For instance, a small amount of stress can help us accomplish work tasks or university assignments, and it makes us feel more energized. However, stress can turn out to be an issue when it lasts for a long time or is very intense. In specific cases, stress can affect our physical and mental health.

Here are the types of stress, symptoms of stress, causes of main stress and acute stress, and complications of acute stress for you to understand more in depth about stress 🧠🌷

Did you know? 🤔

Inadequate rest is linked to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety?

During our busy season in life, we tend to utilise our time and energy to fulfil our tasks, goals and daily responsibilities as a family member, friend, student, colleague, etc., and never taking the time to fill our own cup, which will cause us to have lack of compassion within ourselves 😰

We do feel guilty at times when we think that giving ourselves time to rest is considered selfish when others are in need of our help and company. Yes, we do tie our worth to give and serve others to the extent of exceeding our emotional and mental capacity, and also becoming physically ill 🤒

Here are some benefits of taking rest:-
🌷Able to live more happily and filling our own cups
🌷Cultivate creativity and increase our time productivity
🌷Form a safe space to validate our feelings, listen to what we truly need, and process our thoughts on what is and is no longer working well in our lives
🌷Healthy boundaries to maintain healthy relationships and supporting our physical health

Giving ourselves a time to rest in guilt-free and non-judgmental way are essential to our physical and mental health, particularly after moments of stress, daily struggles, trauma, grief and bereavement. You are the one who must give yourself permission to rest 🧠🌷
