One month ago, we initiated a crowdfunding campaign to help the family of Mr. Ahmad Apong, who is blind and deaf, along with his younger sister, Ms. Dayang, who is also blind, and their mother, who has movement issues. Our goal was to raise RM10,000 to repair their leaking roof. However, we only managed to raise RM4,450. After deducting the 8% service tax and 10% success fee, we were left with RM3,968.94.
For our Plan B, we considered repairing only the most damaged part of the roof, but it was challenging to find a contractor that willing to take on the job for such a low amount. After the discussions with our supervisor and Mr. Ahmad's family, we decided to proceed with Plan C which was purchasing essential items for the family. Here’s what they needed:
1. Hospital bed for their mother
2. Mattresses for each family member
3. Pillows
4. Bedsheets and pillowcases
5. Diapers
6. Groceries
We are pleased to announce that today, July 25th, we successfully executed our project. We are incredibly thankful to each of you who supported us from the beginning and donated to make this project a success. Although we did not achieve our main objective, but we are glad to have helped lessen their burden. Mr. Ahmad sends his heartfelt thanks to all of you who contributed to this project.
