Last year today, we performed an emergency splenectomy — a procedure we don’t see often! 🔪

The patient had a splenic abscess secondary to infective endocarditis that failed conservative treatment. Hence, splenectomy was the only option.

Splenic abscesses are rare but deadly if missed. Early diagnosis saves lives.

你好！Ní Hǎo 👋🏻 We had the honour of welcoming the delegation from Norxin International Science and Technology Cooperation Base, Xi’an, China 🇨🇳 to our centre Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM recently. Norxin, a global biomedical innovation hub, recently signed a MoU with UPM’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Fakulti Perubatan dan Sains Kesihatan, UPM on 30 July 2024.

We explored opportunities for partnership in clinical research - from investigator-led studies to industry-sponsored trials. The delegation included medical experts from various hospitals and centres across China.

Looking forward to future collaborations in research, innovation and pushing boundaries of healthcare! 🧬
