就像这一位病患，感觉视力轻微的模糊，视力为6/7.5。她的眼底照片显示了一个微小的胆固醇栓子，位于视网膜动脉分支。这些斑块通常源自颈动脉或心脏瓣膜，是全身血管疾病的重要警示信号，尤其提示中风或心脏病发作的风险。
这种微小的黄色闪光乍一看可能无害，但它却具有重要的临床意义。患者通常没有症状，但一旦发现，就应该立即进行全面的心血管检查。🫀🧠

Mata manusia adalah satu-satunya organ yang membenarkan penglihatan saraf dan saluran darah secara langsung. Pemeriksaan mata kadangkala boleh memberikan gambaran yang menyeluruh tentang kesihatan seseorang pesakit.
Seperti pesakit ini yang mengadu sedikit kabur dalam penglihatannya, ketajaman penglihatannya adalah baik iaitu 6/7.5. Gambar saraf matanya menunjukkan embolus kolesterol kecil yang tersumbat di cabangan arteri retina. Embolus ini selalunya berasal dari arteri karotid atau injap jantung, merupakan tanda amaran penting penyakit vaskular, terutamanya risiko strok atau serangan jantung.
Ini mungkin kelihatan tidak berbahaya pada pandangan pertama, tetapi ia mempunyai implikasi klinikal yang penting. Pesakit biasanya tiada apa-apa tanda, tetapi jika dikesan, pemeriksaan kardiovaskular yang menyeluruh perlu dilakukan dengan segera. 🫀🧠
🩺 Mata bukan sahaja tingkap kepada jiwa, tetapi juga tingkap kepada kesihatan seluruh badan!

The human eye is the only organ that allow direct visualization of nerves and blood vessels. Eye check-up can sometimes tell us about a patient's overall health.
Like this patient, who came with only slight blurry vision and her visual acuity was 6/7.5. Her fundus photo showed a tiny cholesterol embolus located in a branch of the retinal artery, called Hollenhorst plaque. These plaques usually originate from the carotid artery or heart valves and are an important warning sign of systemic vascular disease, especially the risk of stroke or heart attack.
This tiny yellow glint might look harmless at first glance, but it carries big clinical significance. Patients often have no symptoms, but finding one is a call for a comprehensive cardiovascular workup. 🫀🧠
