MANAGING PUBLIC MONEY..
Dear Everyone,
Let us remind this new Government of THIS BASIC FACT...
EVERY Ringgit in the Public Coffers is money from the Stakeholders of this Country of ours..The RAKYAT who pay all kinds of TAXES , FEES, DUTIES, etc..EVERY entity , such as in Business who pay TAXES , DUTIES, various FEES and CHARGES..All OTHER sources of Revenue accrued to the Government , from any Sector of people in Malaysia
AS SUCH, we, the RAKYAT, have the Right to EXPECT, the POLITICAL GOVERNMENT, among other things....To be JUDICIOUS and CAREFUL about using Public Funds..at EVERY, and all Levels, of Administration ...To ENSURE that EVERY Expenditure, will BENEFIT the Rakyat, whether Directly or Indirectly ...To be ACCOUNTABLE, for ANY expenditure, and be open to SCRUTINY by the PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE, and by Parliament...NO Expenditure should be on UNNECESSARY, FRIVOLOUS, and EGO boosting events and programmes ...To set the necessary GOOD EXAMPLE, in managing Public Funds...with INTEGRITY and sense of Responsibility...
No one will question the use of anybody 's Grandfather's money, or one's inheritance, or money earned HONESTLY..
BUT the RAKYAT will ALWAYS QUESTION HOW the Government spends THEIR ( the Rakyat's ) MONEY.
ALREADY, the Covid Pandemic has been USED AS THE EXCUSE , to NOT have EXPENDITURE tabled in PARLIAMENT , for example as Supplementary Budget.
The RAKYAT only gets to know about the MILLIONS, hundreds of Millions, AND the tens of BILLIONS ALREADY SPENT !
IT IS BAD and IRRESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT and GOVERNANCE, when the BOOKS ARE NOT OPEN to SCRUTINY .
IT IS HOPED THE so called " NEW" GOVERNMENT will show that RESPONSIBILITY and Integrity ,in running our Country
AND NOT CONTINUE to do things that will ultimately RUIN our Country..
THERE is only that THIN LINE... BETWEEN "RUNNING" the Country , and RUINING" it .
