Evening Devotion :

THEME: Remembering Who Provides

Scripture: Deuteronomy 14:22–29

Good evening children of God, we thank the Almighty for his care during the day. As the day comes to a close, this passage invites us to pause and remember where our provision truly comes from. God instructs His people to set aside a tithe v22—not only as an act of obedience, but as a way to **learn reverence**, gratitude, and trust v23. Giving was meant to shape their hearts, not just manage their resources.

What’s striking is that this offering wasn’t joyless or burdensome. It was meant to be shared—celebrated in God’s presence v26—and used to care for those without land or security: the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow v29. God’s economy always ties worship to compassion.

As evening settles in, this passage asks us quiet questions:

* Did I recognize God’s provision today?
* Did my life make room for generosity—of time, attention, or care?

We don’t give to earn God’s blessing; we give because we already live within it. Even now, as we rest, God remains our provider.

Let's Pray:

Lord, thank You for all You have given me today—seen and unseen. Teach my heart to trust You more deeply and to hold what I have with open hands. Let my life reflect Your generosity, and may my rest tonight be rooted in Your faithful care. Amen.

Kaanandjokana, to the married couples

I have a question for us to discuss. It's general though

We have a lot of marriages failing, couples divorcing while many couples still live in marriages though those marriages died a long time ago.

My question is:

"What are small things involved which usually the couples don't notice or sometimes ignore that cause love and connection between the two birds (who once loved and connected to each other) to the extent of seeing each other as opponents, no attraction and sometimes start hating each other"? I asked this question because I know, marriages don't die in a day, there is a process.... What are those small things?

Today is my birthday 🎂, this is the gift I brought for the married couples. Those who are not married don't worry, yours will soon come.

*Evening* *Devotion*

*Acts* *26:24-32*
"Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian" v28. These were King Herod Agrippa of Judea words to Apostle Paul after he preached to them in the court room.

"Short time or long, I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains ⛓️"v29. Paul replied.

*Lesson* : All people irrespective of rank, title, rich or poor, tall or short need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Paul was a fearless servant of God. He was not ashamed of Jesus' name. He mentioned it everywhere even to the pagan Kings such as Agrippa. Another lesson we get from the text is that Apostle Paul was not a selfish person. He prayed that the people who were listening to him on that day in the court room including King Agrippa should be like him, saved and know the TRUTH (Jesus Christ), he also prayed that they should not pass through the sufferings he faces ("except for these chains ⛓️)". May Apostle Paul encourage us to do the same. Let's not be ashamed of mentioning the name Christ to all. Amen.
