A Dawn Without You: A Tribute to President Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob
Today's sun sets without you,
And we sit in longing, yearning for just one more day.
One more day with you here with us,
But the dawn came, and with it, a silent whisper.
In the silent whisper of the early dawn, our Father came,
To call you back to our eternal home, extinguishing your flame.
In those solemn hours, you slipped away,
The mighty roar of a lion was silenced in dismay.
The thunder's mournful cry in the night,
Were harbingers of your impending flight,
To a realm you belonged, now only echoed,
In recordings and backtracks, where your memory is coded.
Here I sit, a Namibian child, lost in sorrow,
Pondering about the tranquillity of your tomorrow.
Nine years of service, marked by your grace,
Now in heaven, you find your place.
A presidential crown, gleaming with a halo's light,
Accept that up above, it's worn by all in sight,
Yet, you're finally home now, in the starry night.
In the depths of grief, I sit and yearn,
For the peace you've found, for which we all yearn.
Our dear President Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, it's a painful goodbye,
But I solemnly grant you the privilege, under the vast sky,
To finally rest, to watch us from the heavens high,
With an eye of clear vision, as we continue to try.
