Walvis Bay Dialysis Centre is recruiting for a graduate or junior Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team as Trainee Renal Nurse.

[foreigners welcome, we sponsor work permits]

As a Trainee Renal Nurse, you will undergo extensive onboarding training as a renal nurse. Overseen by an experienced clinical team comprised of clinical technicians, renal nurses and nephrologists, your eventual responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Primes dialyser and bloodlines.
• Cannulates accesses.
• Cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters.
• Monitor patient vital signs whilst on dialysis and identify irregular dialysis reactions to notify appropriate medical team members.
• Connect and disconnect the patient from the dialysis machine.
• Administer medication prescribed by specialist physicians.
• Draw blood for routine or ad-hoc clinical monitoring.
• Provides pre- and post-procedure care to patients.

Mandatory qualifications and competencies for the position:

• BA in nursing or similar field.
• Assess patient general health and measure vitals.
• Draw blood and administer oral, IV and sub-cut medication.
