"One Life, One Liver" is the theme for World Hepatitis Day in 2023. A global appeal to accelerate measures to improve viral hepatitis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, therefore improving liver health and meeting global hepatitis eradication targets by 2030.
Viral hepatitis has been dubbed a "silent killer" because many patients are asymptomatic until the disease progresses to the advanced stage, when it is accompanied by major consequences, reducing patients' quality of life. As a result, screening at regular intervals and implementing prophylactic measures help in the prevention and incidence of liver disorders.
This year's World Hepatitis Day theme "One Life, One Liver" raises public awareness by emphasizing the need of prevention, early identification, and adherence to prescribed treatment. Furthermore, urging the government to accelerate the required actions to eradicate viral hepatitis, maintain a healthy liver, and fulfill the worldwide 2030 objectives.
