This World Tuberculosis Day, we stand united in raising awareness about the signs and symptoms of tuberculosis.

A persistent cough lasting more than two to three weeks, chest pain, fever, night sweats and unexplained weight loss should never be ignored. Early detection saves lives, and chest X-rays remain one of the most effective tools for identifying tuberculosis at an early stage.

If you are experiencing symptoms, seek medical attention promptly. Timely diagnosis and treatment make all the difference.

Chest radiography plays a vital role in screening, triage and identifying abnormalities associated with pulmonary TB. With modern digital radiography systems, patients benefit from improved image quality, efficient processes and lower radiation exposure.

Accurate imaging supports early diagnosis and better health outcomes.

Did you know that tuberculosis presents in different forms?

TB can be latent, where there are no symptoms and it is not contagious. It can be active, where symptoms are present and the disease can spread. It can also be extrapulmonary, affecting other parts of the body such as the spine, kidneys, lymph nodes or brain.

Understanding the different types of TB is essential for early detection and timely treatment. If left untreated, active TB can be fatal. It is essential to take the prescribed medication exactly as directed and to complete the entire course of treatment, even if you begin to feel better.

Ultrasound imaging uses harmless sound waves with no ionising radiation to produce detailed images of the body’s internal structures.

It is commonly used to examine abdominal and pelvic organs, as well as musculoskeletal structures, offering a safe, cost-effective, and efficient way to support diagnosis and ongoing monitoring.
