Farewell to a Dear Best Friend and Valued Colleague

On Tuesday, 31st March, we bid a fond farewell to Sr. Brigette Lombard, who has retired from the Eros Manor Care Team after 11 dedicated years of service.

Sr. Brigette, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your unwavering commitment, your compassionate care, and the countless lives you have touched with kindness. Your mentorship, guidance, and steadfast support over the years have meant more than words can express — not only to the residents and your colleagues, but to everyone fortunate enough to work alongside you.

You have been more than a colleague; you have been a true friend, a source of wisdom, and an inspiration to us all.

We wish you a joyful and fulfilling retirement. May all your dreams come true, and may this new chapter bring you peace, happiness, and endless opportunities to enjoy the things you love most.

Thank you, Sr. Brigette. You will be deeply missed, but forever remembered with gratitude and affection.
With love and best wishes,
The Eros Manor Care Team ❤️

"Heartfelt thanks from the Residents and Management of Eros Manor to Telecom Namibia, who went to extra lengths to provide us with a temporary solution.

The interruption—caused by the theft of cables and the control box—is expected to take some time to fully repair.

Telecom Namibia recognised our needs and those of our residents, and we are very grateful for their prompt efforts. Thanks to them, we now have a temporary connection in place while they continue working on the full repairs."

Special thanks to the technicians on the ground who made this possible. 🙂

We have set up call forwarding on the main switchboard number, 061 287 1100.

We will answer incoming calls, but we cannot forward or transfer calls; we only take messages and pass them along via WhatsApp.

Thank you to the staff who are working to minimize any inconvenience to residents.

Dear Residents and Families,
Due to the ongoing issue with the telephone wires, landline calls (both incoming and outgoing) remain unavailable at this time.
Please use mobile cellular phones for all communication until the Telecom service is fully restored.

😀If you are a resident and need to contact family, management, emergency services, or anyone else → use your mobile phone.
😀If you are a family member trying to reach a resident → please call their personal mobile number directly.
😀For any urgent matters requiring management, use the mobile numbers provided on our emergency contact list, or message us via Facebook Messenger.

We are still working on establishing a temporary call forwarding system and coordinating with the service provider for repairs. We will post immediately on our page as soon as we have progress, an estimated restoration time, or confirmation that the call forwarding is active.
😀Thank you for your patience and understanding. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this is causing.

📱Please keep your mobile phones charged.

We have been advised that the fault is with the entire Telecom Box and that the cables have been stolen.

Keep an eye on our page (Eros Manor or Eros Manor Retirement Village) for the latest updates on the situation and when services are expected to be restored.

What a magical night at our Valentine's Dinner! 🌹 Watching our residents light up the dance floor reminded us of music's incredible power—it knows no boundaries, uniting hearts across ages in pure joy. These social gatherings are treasures: a chance to reconnect with old friends, spark new connections, and create memories that last.

Who's ready for the next one? 💃🕺

Kudos and thanks to Clive Bergh for organizing the fire drills at Eros Manor—safety and preparedness like this are so important, especially in a residential community.

A big thank you to all the staff and residents who participated and took it seriously. Being ready for emergencies can truly make all the difference.

Well done to everyone involved—stay safe

😊During a Fire
If the alarm sounds: GET OUT, STAY OUT, and CALL FOR HELP (e.g., emergency services). Close doors behind you to slow smoke spread.
😊Prevention Tips
Stay in the kitchen when cooking (especially frying, grilling, or boiling).
😊Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and learn how to use it (PASS: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep).
😊Avoid overloading outlets or using damaged cords.
